Hung Curd Sandwich Recipe | Dahi Sandwich Recipe – 3 Ways with step-by-step photo and video recipe. There are numerous Indian or desi versions of popular sandwich recipes across India. These are typically an extension of the traditional recipe which include basic sliced vegetables and basic spices. However, there some tailor-made desi recipes and hung curd sandwiches or dahi sandwich recipes is one such creamy and healthy sandwich recipes.

Well, dahi sandwich is a popular street food across India, but many believe that it is not something that can be done at home. Basically, there is confusion about the type of yoghurt or curd used for this recipe. The locally produced curd or yoghurt contains a lot of moisture and when finely chopped vegetables are mixed may lead to watery stuffing. But to answer this question, we do not use curd or yoghurt as it is. It has to undergo a process known as hung where are all the water content is drained out. Hence it is known as the hung curd sandwich recipe where the yoghurt turns out to be thick and creamy. Therefore, when mixed with vegetables, it turns out to be like a spread and hence offers a combination of flavours like the tangy and creamy taste. In this post, I have shown 3 ways to prepare the sandwich which only takes minutes to prepare. Also, the stuffing is the same for all the 3 variants and hence you can attempt all 3 or just 1 as per your choice. Do try this and let me know if you have any recommendations or suggestions for it.

In addition, some more related and additional tips, suggestions and variants to the hung curd sandwich recipe. Firstly, use thick and full cream yoghurt or curd for this recipe. Particularly, Greek yoghurt is an ideal choice as it contains less moisture. You may use lite milk yoghurt for this recipe, but when it undergoes the hung process, it would yield less quantity of stuffing. Secondly, you may use any type of sandwich bread slice for this. My personal best choice is white sandwich bread slices, but you may use wheat, brown or even multi-grain bread slices. Lastly, you may customise the stuffing by adding or subtracting the vegetables as per your choice. Also, you may apply tomato sauce, red chutney and slices of vegetables to the stuffing. Also, try to use fresh vegetables for this stuffing.
