The Basilica of Euphrasius is a 6th-century Byzantine-style Episcopal basilica complex located in the city of Porec, Croatia. The church features stunning mosaic art from the sixth century AD, as well as a bell tower and more.

Very old church from the byzantine period of time located in Poreč. The scripts are amazing. Part of the church was destroyed in the earthquake few centuries ago. The church is well preserved and in a good shape. In the church complex there is also a museum and exhibition. Fee has to be paid.

Basilica di Sant'Eufresia a ParenzoAncient Byzantine Basilica in Parenzo dating to the early Christian church with foundations from the 4th century A.D.Parenzo is an Italian speaking city in Istria, now part of Croatia.

Euphrasian Basilica was built in the 6th century on the site of an early Christian church, in the time of Bishop Euphrasius and Emperor Justinian I, and is located in the episcopal complex. UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 1997. It is well preserved and defectively place for a visit if you are nearby.

Daniel H — Google review

Unbelievable historic and religious complex that is still preserved almost exactly as it was in the 6th century! Beautiful mosaics and statue carvings. It is set right against the town walls overlooking the glittering Adriatic waters! Truly a well deserved UNESCO World Heritage Site. Some of the mosaics go back to the 4th century and you can see the ancient Roman walls that connect to the structure. The main building that is currently a museum and place of worship is an almost complete 6th century building with just minor updates. It really is like stepping back in time! Tickets are 10 euros and you can go through on your own or pay extra for an audioguide. The signs are in English, Italian and Spanish as well as Croatian. It was not very crowded at all when I went on a Monday afternoon in late June.

Beautiful church with a lot of history. Well preserved and organized. Well worth some time when I’m Poreč. Nice mosaics laid throughout the place as well.

Mark H — Google review

Unique place which takes you centuries of history back in time, showing a stunning Byzantine Basilica, with bell tower, impressive mosaics and architectural artifacts

Fabio O — Google review

Fascinating and unevitable part of the city. The basilica has memories from over the last 1500-1600 years which is amazing! The Roman mosaics, part of the ancient christianity, the enterieur and the exhibition are also superworthy! It is worth to allocate at least 1-2 hours to the visit! Do not miss!

Bertalan F — Google review

Beautiful decorated altar in this Basilica and when I visited in November 2022 very quiet. And ticket sales were closed then so I had free entry.Next to the church is a large Roman mosaic

Seimen B — Google review

One more beautiful and very interesting place to participate. It is full of history and really awesome. Porec itself is very ancient city, and basalica is the core. Amazing architecture, great exhibition. With no doubt, it is mandatory to see. It would be no so interesting for small children, but anyway there are a lot of space and kids will be happy enough. No beverages or snacks inside, be ready. And one more good point, there are not so hot as outside, and it is extra bonus to go there.

Pavlo S — Google review

It worth to visit in case you want to see something else but the regular boring typical touristic places. From the tower you will have a very nice 360 view. But prepare yourself to for the stairs! The adult tickets will be 50 kuna per person. You should be open for culture and history to visit the place. The lack of information around the building in English was a little bit disappointing.

Gergely M — Google review

View is nice, but think about visiting it twice if you are with small kids. The number of visitors allowed to go up is not controlled at all, it's a total chaos both upside and downside. When we went up we had to wait at every corner to allow others to go down. When we tried to go down, the tourists going up did not stop, the observation point became totally overcrowded and many of us had to shout to start going downwards.

Ferenc L — Google review

Once you have paid the entrance fee it will become quite clear to you why this Basilica was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997. It shows the early Byzantine style and it is in very good shape considering how old it is. If you are planning to visit Poreč or a nearby place, I would say that this Basilica should top your list!

This bar is fabulous. Down a little pedestrian street, great atmosphere, great food. The traditional plate is delicious. The staff are brilliant. When we come back to Porec this bar is going to be our first stop. Thank you guys.

Dave N — Google review

My husband and I stayed in an apartment on this street last week, and found Anton to be SO friendly every time we walked by, that we decided to try the food and wine. We had one of the best meals of our 3-week trip. We shared a Greek salad, then ordered the Istrian Bruschetta - which was fabulous. Cannot say enough good things about this place. Thank you, Anton, for helping to make our visit to Porec wonderful! *Mr and Mrs Canada. 😆

Nancy D — Google review

Perfect place in old town. The best wine and food plate. Traditional Istrian prosciutto 👌🏻 value for money is Great. Staff is friendly. I will definitely go back. Recommend to everyone.

Ana V — Google review

We were at the Bacchus the night before, and decided to give it a try to other bars on the street.Unfortunately the experience was not the best. All the food platters are always for 2 people, and the night before at Bacchus a food platter for one was already enormous and enough for us two. So, we have decided to only have wine and have dinner with real food somewhere else later. I wonder if you are traveling alone how will you finish a food platter for two or what will you order from the menu. Also, the prices are way higher than the other bars on the street, and the waiter was all the time on his phone. He did not seemed interested in taking orders or in his work. That is probably why it was the emptiest bar on the street at the time.

Dit was ons hoogtepuntje van porec en komen hier zeker terug.(Translated by Google)It is difficult to describe in words how delicious our meal was. In addition, there were free shots and great service. We ordered a delicious platter with cheese and meat and the clerk explained each item what it was. There were 5 of us and we had two boards for two people and that was more than enough. The truffle plank was highly recommended! The price is also so low that you almost start to feel guilty. This was our highlight of Porec and we will definitely come back here.

Ferries

Venezia Lines are a great option for travelers looking to get to Venice by boat. They offer day trips from various ports in Croatia and Slovenia, which give you the opportunity to see the city in a single day. Their boats are the fastest at the Adriatic, and their staff is friendly and knowledgeable. You also receive a guided tour of St Mark's Square on board, so you don't have to worry about being left alone.

I can't say enough positive things about this ferry service. From the moment we boarded, the crew made us feel welcome and taken care of. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable about Venice and shared fascinating stories and facts throughout the journey. The day we spent in Venice was nothing short of magical, thanks to the seamless transportation and expert guidance provided by this service. I highly commend them for their excellent service and unforgettable experience!

My friend and I took the ferry from Venice to Rovinj. The voyage was pleasant and boarding easy, however when we got on the boat in Venice they took our passports! We arrived at the docked boat after going through security and passport control with the italian police. The crew greated us and asked again for our passports. They then took our passports and gave us a small laminated piece of paper with a number on it and no explanation. This, naturally, made us quite worried. When we landed in Pula, all the passengers going to Rovinj were asked to disembark for passport control. They said nothing about our passports until we reached the passport check. There, one of the crew members was standing with the stack of everyones passports with a numbered sticky notes on the back of each. The crew member gave me my friend's by mistake and the entire process of giving them back was extremely disorganized. Our guess was that they took the passports to stop illegal immigration, but we received absolutely no explanation. It is extremely nerve-wracking to be so far from home and have your passport taken and there was definitely a moment where I feared something bad could be happening. I understand if there are security measures that need to be taken, but if this happened to me again without explanation I would refuse to give my passport.Other than that the voyage was as you would expect. The captain was very good hom*oured, although the staff were a bit unfriendly.

Wren K — Google review

Overall a positive experience. The journey is 3 hours each way and it was swelteringly hot. That said the staff were very helpful and friendly. The guides did a full presentation on what to expect, what to see in Venice. They were both knowledgeable and entertaining. There were optional extras that they successfully sold to us. €20 for a morning transfer to San Marco Plaza. This was very good. We had seat on the open air top deck for good views and again there was full commentary from our guides. €30 for the afternoon transfer was more disappointing. The water taxis are covered so there is limited view. All in all we paid €120 per person 8ncluding the 2 optional extras mentioned above and on balance we do not regret. We saw Venice, had ample time to see the key sights, the organisation was good, everything ran to time. Thankyou.

My trip from Venice to Rovinj could have been a bit nicer, but the ferry was packed to the gills. The crossing itself was pleasant enough, although getting outside for longer than just the Venice bay but I understand it's due to the speed of the boat. The seats are a little old and could use a bit of care and attention. Definitely a few need fixing as I couldn't stop my seat from reclining. My return trip a few days later was better, with less people on board. There was a little confusion at boarding when the guy taking bags on board did it prior to VIP tags being put on. This led to one of my party only getting one of his bags off of the boat when the VIP people left and having to wait for his bags at the end, leaving him a long time in line for passport control. I missed our arrival into Venice as I was asleep but I understand that the door wasn't opened to allow people on deck. That said, as voyages go, when I'm heading to Rovinj next year, I'll probably take the ferry again. It was cheap, gave me time to sleep after a tiring weekend and got me where I needed to be at a convenient time.

Appears to be a bus company masquerading as a ferry service. Our evening ferry from Venice to Porec was cancelled. We were notified early enough (morning of the same day) and offered a refund or bus. We took the bus so we could continue our travels without disruption. Travel time was only a tad longer than the ferry would have been. But we paid for a ferry... and instead got a bus trip which could have cost us a quarter of the price if we just went and did that in the first place. With 34 people on the bus I do wonder if this is the more beneficial way for them to operate. If not, and there really was "technical difficulties" with the ferry, it must be a very dodgy ferry because there's a lot of reviews to show this happens quite frequently.

Craig C — Google review

The best way to get to Venice by the ship. Malta-based operators have day trips from various ports in Croatia and Slovenia. It is great opportunity to see Venice in a day.Their catamarans are the fastest at the Adriatic, staff is friendly and guides very skilled. You get presentation of Venice and their programs on board, they take you around to St. Mark's Square on a guided tour, so you are not left on your own. They can help you save time and see most in a day for normal amount of money.Highly recommended.

Miran I — Google review

The morning started well, the shuttle and the boat arrived on time. The services offered on the ship are overpriced. Two toilets for hundreds of people is not acceptable. The ship was delayed at least 40 minutes in Venice. By the way, the organization was fine in Venice. The first major problem is getting back to the port, those who didn't take a taxi were left on their own. After a long wait at the port, they informed us that there were technical problems with the ship and that we could not go back with it. We were without information on the way back. It took at least fifty minutes for a plan B, which was to walk at least 1.5 km to the train station, no water or other drinks were provided in the heat. Several of us were sick from the excitement. We had to go by train to Trieste and then continue by bus. Again, this was chaotic organization. We arrived home three hours late and missed dinner. We did not get what we expected for the original price, the two stars are for Venice, not VeneziaLines. It was a disappointment, we do not recommend it to anyone!

Gabriella K — Google review

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Venezia Lines service, and I must say it was an exceptional journey from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all passengers. The ferry itself was not only comfortable but also offered breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea as we approached Venice. Upon arrival, I was immediately enchanted by Venice's canals, stunning architecture, and romantic atmosphere. Exploring the narrow streets, visiting St. Mark's Square, and indulging in local cuisine were highlights of my trip. Taking a gondola ride through the canals is a must, and the Rialto Bridge offers incredible views of the Grand Canal. I highly recommend Venezia Lines for an amazing and hassle free trip to this beautiful city. Venice is a destination that should be on everyone's travel bucket list, and I'll be sure to share my experience with friends and family

Booked ferry Porec to Venice departing 7am 3rd June 2023 - Arrived in good time ahead of the 60 minutes check in closure period to find that the check in staff arrive only 30 minutes before departure, very early start not needed! Check in staff then casually informed us that there is no ferry due to a ‘technical’ issue and that a bus replacement service would be arranged departing 2 hours later than original ferry departure. No further explanation given and no apology offered except that if we accepted the bus alternative no refunds would be offered. They have arranged for free a coffee so let’s see whether we arrive in our planned destination, Venice on time…disappointing experience so far🤨Update - Bus arrives to collect us and fellow passengers, approx 12, there are a similar number of others on the bus when it arrives, which ferry were they Supposed to be on? We are then told we would be stopping to collect other passengers en-route to Venice. So looks like a lot of ferries with ‘technical’ issues. Fortunately we are from the UK so are very adept at identifying when we are not being told the truth, Brexit has had some benefits! So the real story appears to be that there were not enough booked paying passengers to run three ferries so it’s cheaper to hire one bus for less than 60 people and pick up from three different ports. The ‘technical’ issue with the ferry is the simplest excuse to palm us off with. Can’t wait for the reply to this, no doubt it will be full of ‘technical’ non truths!

J’imagine que le trajet risque d’être long avec les embouteillages en plein mois de juillet ….. franchement pas recommandable.(Translated by Google)👎 Informed by email at 11 a.m. that our 5 p.m. boat had a technical problem (this seems to happen often with this company according to previous reviews...) and that it would be replaced by a bus... too bad for a boat company. We had to come very early to understand the alternative solution proposed….. half a day in lost Venice…. no compensation provided. Given the price, you might as well take a direct Flixbus. We had a great excursion to Venice, mainly thanks to well educated and prepared tour guides Sandra and Žiga. They are wonderful people with huge knowledge and proficiency in foreign languages. Thank you for this amazing trip. Best wishes 🙂

It was/is very very cold on the boat (Rovinj-Venice). They gave us blankets but the temperature is not pleasant at all, I have never been on a cruise where all people was freezing and can't relax 😥😬. You can have all comfort from other services but not noticed if you can't enjoy it at all.

Andreea D — Google review

The day before our departure we read the reviews and were quite anxious for our trip with Venezia lines, San pawl. But our experience was great from start to finish. We however, did not do the trip during the high season and neither the day trip from Croatia to Venice and back.We took the boat one way, in mid September, from Venice to Rovinj. No long announcements and sale pitches. Working AC (not to cold but nice to have a sweater). It was bumpy, sure, but what can you expect from the open sea, and most people seemed to enjoy the waves. The seats were comfy and spacious.Pro tip: Bring with you a sweater and noice canceling headphones (engine is quite loud).Great way to travel as an option to bus/train/flight. Would probably do it again.

An unexpected gem. We stopped by without any real plan or intention, and we had so much fun. It's a beautiful cave with a guided tour lasting about an hour (our guide Igor was funny and engaging), and outside there is a relaxed outdoor restaurant and souvenir shop. Definitely worth a visit!

Big, deep, great cave. Amazing viewes, good facilities. Highly recommend to participate. There a bit cold in the cave, plaase have some warmer clothes with you. For your information, go to the cave and back require basic physical readiness, if you have a children on your hands it will be some challenge for you. Flash pictures are prohibited, if you want to make a picture be sure you have enough sensitive camera. While you will be waiting for your guide(if I'm not wrong one tour takes about one hour) there are nice cafe under the cave. It is goid enough and delicious. And, one more bonus, there are interesting tractor history museum, very close to the cave. Better to participate both in "one shot".

Really good place to spend about 2 hours. Cave is nice, 270 stairs down, the same way up. Guide talks a lot of interesting things about the area. Next to the Cave, there is nice restaurant and gift shop. Live music makes really cool atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Nice experience!! It is guided tour which costs 11 Euro per person and takes about 40 minutes. There was a queue for the ticket and according to the language, group number and tour start time is given. We had to wait almost an hour for the tour to start, after getting the ticket. There are 270 steps each way with 5 chambers where beautiful formations can be seen in the cave. Temperature stays pleasant at 14 degrees celsius all year round.Absolutely worth a visit!!

This is a fine little cave in the middle of nowhere. If you have a car it is easy to approach. There is a buffet so you can wait in the shades for a guided tour with a cold drink in your hands. You can buy your ticket with credit card too. A tour is 40-45 minutes, you have to go way down on many stairs 60 meter. In the cave is 12 celsius degree so make sure you have warm clothes and good shoes, because it is slippery too. There is english, deutch, croatien and french language toure. You can make photos but no use of flash. Have fun!

Jama Baredine is truly a hidden gem in Istria, presenting a mesmerizing display of the underground beauty of nature. Its mysterious allure is further accentuated by the presence of an intriguing inhabitant of the underworld – the human fish, the largest true underground animal and a unique species endemic to these karstic areas. While it can get quite crowded on days with bad weather, fret not as you are provided with a group number and an approximate entry time upon buying a ticket. The waiting time, which might be slightly longer than usual during the summer season, can be perfectly utilized to explore the other offerings of the place or engage in personal activities. One such interesting feature is the Tractor Story. It's not just about old tractors, machines, and photos – it's a journey into the history and people of the regio. This exhibit provides a good pastime while waiting for your tour to start.I give it 5 stars for the immersive and educational experience it provides, coupled with its unique attractions and excellent visitor arrangements. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Istria.

Very nice experience. You will enter the cave with a guide and the total trip takes about 40 minutes. It is 270 steps down to the lowest point tourists can go. The actual deepest point is at 132 meter but only accessible with professional climbing gear. The guide will tell about all the different rock formations that can be seen. A really must see experience.During busy days it could take some time before you can go inside the cave. You will get a group number and time. During waiting you can stay at the location and see some other stuff there, or visit the town of Poreč.

Frank M — Google review

An interesting cave to explore, escorted by a guide. The caves are extremely busy and groups are held back at points so as to allow others to exit. The climb back to the entrance is quite exhausting but in general the trip is well worth while. There is a selection of gift shops, a nice family restaurant and plenty of places for a picnic. For a few euro extra the caves can be combined with the tractor museum just a few hundred steps away across the car park.

Marton H — Google review

Was very impressive - much better than already anticipated. Also: great guides - informative and funny. Our small dog was allowed in his backpack, which was great!A couple of steep stairs are in the cave, so not easy to navigate with children.

Nora K — Google review

The guided tours are in English or German. When the ticket is bought, you are assigned to a group of around 20 people. Each group is led down into the cave about every 15 minutes, alternating guide language. In some places the path is very narrow and the groups have to wait for each other. The guides are very knowledgeable and give good explanations of what we are seeing as well as keep a close eye to ensure that all members of the group can keep up. Fair warning. Although the cave is well lit and everything is accessible via stairs, it can be a bit claustrophobic. The climb back out of the cave is about 270 steps and is encouraged to be done as fast as possible to make room for the other groups.

Interesting place worth to visit when you want to see some other place than the ones at the coast. Well organized, affordable prices, enough shade to wait till your tour starts. Maybe it's better to go when the weather is good, because it isn't overcrowded (plus the air is naturally conditioned).

Bohuslav V — Google review

This was a great experience, both educational and fun! Our tour guide Jenny was awesome. She was very knowledgeable and interesting. It's only 10 euros to go down in the cave and I would say it was worth it!

Probably the most impressive cave accessible for tourists in the istria region. There are about 60 m height difference to be managed. In five halls, there is one miracle after the other. In the deepest hall, there are two living olms (proteus) in a bassin.

Nice place for visiting. You can learned a lot there about our history. Unfortunately we waited roughly 30mins in queue but our entrance was in 3 and half hours, so almost 4 hours waiting due to many visitors before us. But you can go to sea, Poreć is not so far...

I made a reservation for my husband’s birthday one month in advance of our arrival. The day and time came and we were left alone at a clearly empty property. We made the mistake of assuming they’d honour the agreement and waited 2 hours. As I explained in advance it was my husband’s birthday and we were travelling with a baby. They didn’t answer the phone, they didn’t reply to the emails, nothing. About four hours after our agreed meeting time they emailed unapologetically and said to come whenever we want during the week. I guess this is the service from an overly commercial enterprise that doesn’t need individual customers. Doesn’t leave a good taste in the mouth but obviously I can’t speak to the wine we never had the chance to taste.

Really cool place, the owners are super nice and the property on a high hill with a great view of the sea and the coastline. The olive oil was top notch and the wines tasted very good too. I had the chance to try the donkey milk - weird, yet tasty! I recommend visiting this place and buying some of their fresh organic products.

Lovely Place, good wines and food and a very nice host 😀👍Thanks for a wonderful afternoon!!!!

Horst L — Google review

We went for a beautiful afternoon to this great family-owned winery. Surrounded by rolling hills with symmetric rows of grapevines in the background, we were nestled cozily under a gorgeous canopy of kiwi vine ripe with fruits ready for the picking. The hosts were so hospitable and happy to answer all of our questions. It was a delightful day full of cheese, house-smoked meats, fresh grapes, and the best sweetest, plump, fresh figs I’ve ever had the opportunity to taste. What a treat! We will definitely return!

Valerie N — Google review

What a fantastic and special family winery! Definitely worth a visit. We were road-tripping to Rovinj, happened to see their sign, and decided check it out… which turned out to be the best impromptu stop ever. The owner was so welcoming and explained in detail the history behind the property, the wines, the olive oil and the cheese/salami platter we tried. Since tourist season wasn’t yet in full force, we were the only ones there and felt so lucky to get such personalized attention from her. The olive oil and wines were some our favorites on this trip! And the setting was so magical as we sat under the shade of a kiwi trellis whose flowers were in bloom. We also met her adorable donkeys, went for a short walk on the property to enjoy the spectacular views of the water and islands in the distance. And on top of that, the tasting and all the wines were very reasonably priced!

Julie W — Google review

Absolutely one of the best wine and olive oil tasting tours I have ever experienced. The very friendly, social nephew of the winemaker showed my girlfriend and me around, talked us through the tasting of their very own products and helped us buy some of these products. The (sustainable) products are a bit expensive but of very high quality. The wine tasting tour could even be called cheap for what you get, both quantity as quality. All in all an amazing experience, perfect for a birthday present or just a very nice afternoon.

Wytze — Google review

We stumbled across this winery (looking for another which - fortunately, it turned out- seemed to be closed) and had ***such*** a nice afternoon in a beautiful leafy, relaxed outdoor patio space. We sampled five wines and shared a cold platter of excellent local produce and probably the nicest olive oil I've ever tasted. Had it for into my luggage I'd have definitely brought some home. I'd go back here in a heartbeat.

Jo R — Google review

This week I had the pleasure of visiting this family-owned winery for a wine tasting (suggested by a friend), and it was a truly memorable experience. From the moment the 3 of us arrived, we were struck by the relaxing atmosphere of the place. We stayed for more than two hours and sampled 5 wines (2 whites, one rose and two reds).Throughout the tasting, the owners shared stories about their family and the history of the winery. They also emphasized how much effort they put in the biodynamic production. The star of the tasting was the olive oil, served with a cold platter, which I would recommend 10/10.

Luana I — Google review

My sister and I stumbled across this place a bit by accident but ended up having an awesome wine tasting and a cheese platter. The wines are organic and were really great as was the food. The owner was very friendly and accommodating and even brought us gluten free bread! Lovely view as well :)

Lana L — Google review

We recently stumbled across Collis in Rovinj and had the most relaxing afternoon. Carmen, the host, greeted us warmly and took the time to give us a comprehensive introduction to their exquisite selection of organic wines. I highly recommend trying their Malvasia, a truly stunning summer wine that left us craving for more. In fact, we were so enamored by it that we couldn't resist buying a box to savor at home. A visit to Collis is definitely worth your while, as it promises a relaxing and memorable experience.

Histria Aromatica d.o.o. in Golas is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and those interested in natural products. It's described as a medieval aromatharium, offering herbal preparations for health and beauty. The park spans 25 acres of lavender, sage, marigold fields, and over 300 species of aromatic spice and medicinal herbs. Visitors can explore the plantations, gardens, olive groves, and vineyards via walkways.

Magic place with stunning views and great architecture. Now back in business and open again after 4 years. A must visit when in the neighborhood.

Beautiful part of Istria, excellent hosts. Definetely worth visiting.

We had a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere is very relaxing with a beautiful lavender field. All the staff are very friendly and professional. There is also a nice aromatic shop with unique natural products and a coffee shop where you can enjoy delicious refreshing drinks and coffee.Definitely recommend!!

Yasamin A — Google review

We came here before closing time but were warmly welcomed, had a small tour inside the building. Not much of the plants were blooming, but it is a really nice place while traveling around Istria.

Olga S — Google review

Most plants were in far worse condition than expected. Is probably better in spring but then it's about 10€ per person which is by far overpriced for an overgrown and untended large garden

Jonas W — Google review

It doesn't work on Saturday and Sunday, most likely all other days too, despite the information on Google maps. Phone number is out of work. Entry gate is closed, no information about work hours. There's nothing to do!

Beautifully landscaped herb garden. But everything is still quite new and I think it will be really nice when all plants have been growing for a few years. Wonderful view.

The Molo Audace, formerly known as the Molo S. Carlo, is a stone pier built in 1751 that has become a popular tourist attraction in the city. It offers an excellent spot to admire beautiful sunsets over the Adriatic Sea and provides a breathtaking view of Piazza Unita and San Giusto hill with its rich history spanning over 2000 years.

Spacious molo surrounded by variety of ships. You may watch sunsets over Adriatic Sea having on your back beautiful Piazza Unità with historical buildings and further behind it, hill of San Giusto with its over 2000 years of history. A very beautiful place for spending memorable time with friends while enjoying the spectacular views. We have visited this place on the way to Slovenia. The town is also very beautiful with nice restaurants. A walk through the town after having a coffee will definitely make you feel happy. Had a very memorable time.

Dr. T — Google review

A beautiful place for watching the sunset and spending the evening with friends and loved ones in Trieste. The cruise ships, the restaurants and shops lit up in the evening, musicians playing guitar or violin etc add to the beauty of the place.

Sumeet S — Google review

A really pleasant place in the city, good idea to have a “molo” for the tourists like this. Best place to see the sunset in good weather, it should be amazing. Unfortunately we had no good weather conditions to see it because it was cloudy. Anyway this place is worth visiting because the view is beautiful and breathtaking.

Almost 250 meters long pier, beautiful during sunset. Very popular place for strolling, walking and relaxing by the sea.

Of course, the view is incredible. Some ships in the distance and a huge yacht makes the horizon even more interesting. In the evening it’s a beautiful place to watch the sun goes down and ships turn on their lights

Molo Audace, formerly Molo San Carlo, is a place dear to the hearts of Trieste's inhabitants. This walkway extending about200 metres out to seais a magical place for a stroll and a breath of fresh air at any time of day and in any season, a place of enchanting autumnal sunsets, when the buildings on the shores are tinged with red

Aleksandra N — Google review

Nice little pier that's close to the city centre. What I miss are a bunch of benches to sit down and enjoy the view + those little wooden houses where they sell food, drinks and souvenirs. It could add some more charm in the winter.

Alen — Google review

Famous pier in the city center with iconic city views.Unfortunately, the pier was partly closed during my visit. And in in addition there was some unpleasant specific fish-related smell around. Due to that I didn't manage to see the city from a long distance in the sea. But still views of the Piazza Unità d'Italia even from the beginning of the pier are very beautiful.

Irina K — Google review

A lovely place for a walk and to enjoy the sea - Trieste's great asset.

The Piazza Unità d'Italia (Piazza Grande) is a large, impressive square in the heart of Venice that is flanked by some of the city's grandest palazzi. The square is a beautiful triumph of Austro-Hungarian town planning and contemporary civil pride and is especially beautiful when lit at night. The buildings around the piazza are all well maintained and look really nice during the day or at night when they are illuminated with blue lights.

Beautiful square. It is often said to be Europe's largest square located next to the sea. The square was built during the period when Trieste was the most important seaport of theAustrian-Hungarian Empire and includes the city's municipal buildings and other important palaces. You should visit Caffe San Marco– a magnificent place, well known to both tourists and residents

Cvijetin L — Google review

It's a wonderful place in Trieste ❤️The main square in the city and one of the biggest squares in the world. Great architecture and monuments. Here is the fountain of the four continents, the building of the municipality and local government. There is access to the sea from the square. Try coffee in the cafe here - it is delicious 😋

Kateryna S — Google review

One of the stunning places to visit at night. The Italians really know how to light up the night. This place is absolutely majestic, it beautiful during the day but absolutely gorgeous at night. It has lovely statues, water fountains and the buildings architecture is amazing. This place is one of my favourite evening places I’ve ever visited. It’s very lively, with lots to do in and around this area. How could you not check this place out.

Beautiful square overlooking the sea, there are some nice places to have breakfast or some appetizers. All the buildings are clean and well maintained, they look really nice at night when they are enlightened. There are also some nice blue lights on the ground.

Trieste is an interesting port city closest to the Slovenian coast on the Adriatic Sea. A wonderful big square and old buildings are full of history that this city hides. Nearby you can eat good pizza and enjoy gelato, and definitely close to return to Slovenia if you are a tourist and see another country plus.

Trieste’s biggest and main square - this is also the largest square in Italy that is right by the sea (Adriatic Sea in this case). The grand open space is awe inspiring. This is a great place for hosting concerts as well.

A beautiful square built in the nineteenth century, surrounded by splendid buildings. Its main feature, which makes it unique, is that it is the largest European square open directly to the sea.

Lovely square, there were many tents up in the square when iw ent there so I couldn't enjoy it to the fullest extent, I guess they had just gotten done putting on a big event. There's a great restaurant on the square that serves the best french toast I've ever had.

Cathedral

Sights & Landmarks

Cattedrale di San Giusto Martire is a 14th-century cathedral built on a Roman temple that features intricate frescoes and mosaics. Completed in 1400, it showcases a combination of Ravenna and Byzantine architectural styles with 13th-century frescoes and 12th-century mosaics. The chapel, known as Escorial Carlista, houses the tombs of nine members of the Spanish royal family.

Nice historical place with awesome view on the Trieste and all surroundings. Near to the centre of the city and parking garages, just a few minutes of walking.

Petr J — Google review

San Giusto is the result of joining two churches together. Impressive interior with a large nave; two aisles on either side; 13th century Byzantine mosaics and a magnificent Gothic rose window. We stayed for mass officiated unusually by a young priest with a sense of humour!

Bruce T — Google review

Beautiful church. And next to it you can see the ruins from the romains and go to the bell tower. From there you also get another beautiful view. Going up costs only 2 euro per person

No D — Google review

The ambience inside was quite special. The interior was also decorative and splendid as were the religious depictions and altars. Definitely a place to visit.

Alice G — Google review

You can reach the church after a nice hike up the hill, but the view is worth it. Entrance to the tower costs €2 per person. In the tower you will find four large bells and a beautiful view. Parking is tricky and complicated, for experienced drivers only.

Beautiful cathedral. Very interesting, historical landmark. Good to learn about the history of Triest. Wonderful views of the city and the harbour.

Olly G — Google review

14th century Gothic rose window, the portal and the massive bell tower. The whole of the façade, a hut. S. Giusto is a 'cathedral-patchwork' built in Roman times, on a paleochristian hall. Inside, the cathedral surprises, among the forest of columns, for the width of the five naves and the magnificent mosaics of the Venetian-Byzantine school (XII-XIII century). the magnificent wrought-iron chandelier overlooking the central nave, forged by Massimiliano for the throne room of his castle and then given to the cathedral before leaving for Mexico where he later died.

Giuliana L — Google review

Beautiful cathedral. Ancient mixed with the modern. Interesting use of nautical motifs eg in the sacristy. A nice cool spot at the top of the city.

Andrea B — Google review

Thoroughly enjoyed the inside of the Cathedral. Multiple naves, old alongside new, it was fascinating. Totally recommend the visit.

Ian T — Google review

This is a very beautiful church. The architecture, artwork and stature is very nice. It’s beautiful, it’s not e big but it was much larger than I had anticipated. I really enjoyed the time I’ve spent here, if you enjoy visiting churches I would definitely recommend visiting this church when in Trieste.

Pong L — Google review

Totally worth the climb to top of the hill where you find amazing romanesque cathedral. Not so high entrance but with beautiful old parts. Built on remains of roman temple. You can climb the tower to enjoy the view, but for that you have to pay 2€. In it you can see roman construction of old temple.

Rok S — Google review

Beautiful church on the hill with really easy access when you are coming by car. It is possible to park in an underground garage on the sea level and the lift takes you all the way up to the church (and castle as well).Definitely one of the best mammals you can visit in Trieste along with the castle, recommended 100 %.Entrance is free within the opening hours.

Filip M — Google review

It is very impressive once you step inside. This huge art masterpiece behind alter just takes breath away. It was pretty dark, would recommend to stop by, and just enjoy the moment. It’s free

Raimond — Google review

The 13th century Cathedral is absolutly stunning. For its age, the well kept nature of the frescos and artefacts surpasses all expectations. We have seen 18th century churches and cathedrals in worse conditions. Have never seen anything like it, especially a cathedral with so many little chapels inside. Amazing, well worth the climb and visit. Almost looks like a movie set for a medieval fantasy film. A holy place rich with history, relics and color!

Trash T — Google review

Very beautiful old church, main church of Trieste. Interior is very nice and interesting, you see and even feel how old the church is. And inside you can see very nice mosaics. The church is located just near the San Giusto castle, on the top of the hill. You can go up the hill along narrow streets starting from the Trieste City Hall.

Irina K — Google review

This is a treasure trove of a church for students of medieval art & architecture and the guides do not do it justice. Most European churches were heavily modified during the Baroque era and most of the Medieval and Renaissance decoration was lost. But not San Giusto; the only Baroque elements were in the side chapels. The church itself maintains its medieval 15th century aesthetic. The church itself retains elements of far earlier churches and temples. It was originally built over a Roman temple in the 6th century and destroyed soon thereafter by the Lombard invasion. Two side-by-side churches were then built in the 11th and 12th centuries both with beautiful mosaic apses. The two churches were joined together in the 15th century, adding a larger central apse which now has a 20th century mosaic on its ceiling that is equally impressive, in its own way. What is absolutely remarkable are the elements of each that have been preserved. The entry to the bell tower was built on a Roman foundation and many original columns were incorporated. The entire entryway to the church was used from the temple, and the sculpted figures on either side are a reused Roman funerary column. The mosaic floor to the left side of the church remains from the 6th century church and the 11th & 12th century apses have their original mosaics. It is worth a euro coin to turn on the lights to these apses for photos. Finally, don't miss the 600 year old painting on the walls and ceiling of the rightmost apse. It's pretty deteriorated, but remarkable how much remains. If you like medieval, don't miss this church in Trieste.

The Risiera di San Sabba concentration camp was used by the Nazi regime to detain and kill political prisoners, as well as Jews who were then deported to Auschwitz. The museum is a five-storey brick-built compound that commemorates the 5000 people who perished here and the many thousands more who were impacted by the camp's existence. The exhibits provide an overview of the history of the concentration camp and its use during World War II.

Surely not at the level of the most famous (or infamous) concentration camps. For me it is worth five stars: this place needs a visit, as it is the only camp in Italy with a crematorium

Stefano S — Google review

Great, succinct museum in a place charged with heavy, too recent history. Definitely worth a visit. Plan about 30-40 mins. Audioguides currently unavailable due to covid.

An unexpected little gem. Another sad point of reflection on WW2, and how grim it must have been. It's not a very big museum and there is a lot of reading. For me the map of the transition locations across Germany shows the systematic scale of the operation that was being undertaken. In spite of being close to the town, people did not realise what was going on until late in the war.Entry is free, but a donation is welcome.

This is a less known, yet very important site to visit. A remarkable monument of an era that should not be forgotten. For 2 euros only you can buy an audio guide which I really recommend to do so, as otherwise you won't understand what to look at and you won't have all the background information. If you get there by car the most convenient is to park at the supermarket's parking lot nearby.

Aquarium

Outdoor Activities

The Pula Aquarium, located in a historic Austro-Hungarian fort from 1886, offers an educational and immersive experience. With 35 pools, visitors can observe a diverse range of marine and freshwater animals from around the world, including species native to the Adriatic Sea and Croatia.

Besides great examples of sea life, it is really well organized and arranged. You can easily find the way around and learn about the history of Pula, marine life presented there, and the environment awareness. And also, do not miss the view from the roof. Really amazing.

Vesna R — Google review

Great place to visit in Pula. The aquarium is based in the historic fortress built in 1886. The rooms have cool climate - you can go here and enjoy it although outside is really hot weather. Parking isn't problem - you can park the car right in front of the entrance. I recommend this.

Tom?? J — Google review

The aquarium is located in a beautiful environment and space. Nice view from the roof. You walk through the corridors of the fortress on three floors - interesting for children. The ticket (you can also buy it online) is also valid for the second part of the aquarium, which is located a few meters away from the main aquarium (fort). In the surrounding area there are many walking paths and also a few taverns where you can have something to drink and eat. We parked a little lower below the aquarium in a larger parking lot - parking was free.

Sa?a L — Google review

There were many more tanks than we were expecting! The whole aquarium is divided into two separate buildings, one with mostly Mediterranean exhibitions, the other with exotic species from all over the world. The tanks were always clean and the fish looked healthy. There's also a butterfly walk-in exhibit and a little playground for children.Somehow there weren't many people there, only a few larger groups, so we mostly had the whole building to ourselves.Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting the Pula Aquarium to anyone looking for a pleasant afternoon.

Mark?ta ? — Google review

The aquarium in Pula is truly an unforgettable experience. Not only did we have the opportunity to see the underwater world, but the spaces where the aquarium itself is located are amazing. Narrow corridors, history, and ship models enhance the whole experience. Even though we've seen similar aquariums in Budapest or Vienna, this one stands out due to its unique setting and is definitely worth a visit!

Olga T — Google review

The ticket costs around 20 euro if I am right, and u can visit 2 whole big aquariums. U can see not only sea animals, but historical boats and many else. The parking place is close, and FREE. I REALLY recommend it, enjoyed every moment of it.

Great place to learn about marine life and environmental awareness. There is a nice variation of species to see. There is even a nice part with butterflies and a rooftop with a view. A bit expensive but worth visiting.

Irena T — Google review

Initially it was not in my plan to visit it but due to a heavy rain it was the best option to spend a couple of hours inside. The building and the arrangement of the aquarium is quite interesting. My 2 kids enjoyed the time there but for a family of 4, tickets were a bit pricy. There is no option to purchase a family ticket.

Rares M — Google review

Very nice combination of old fort with aquarium. Some of the outside located models were damaged but the inside located aquariums and info boards were really cool. Kids loved the trip, fishes and interior of the Fort. Perfect for rainy day family trip!

Micha? G — Google review

Definitely worth to visit a place. Many animal species, many aquariums. Nice, cold place. Not expensive, 2 persons 34€. You can spend there 2-3 hours at least. If you have claustrophobia, it will be a little hard in some rooms. Our 2 year old daughter was very happy there.

Sindija ( — Google review

A very interesting aquarium being based in a converted fort. It's very atmospheric and also nice and cool ! Not a massive place but there's a lot of history here too with many naval historical exhibits. Well worth a visit if you're nearby.

Phil M — Google review

Very big aquarium with a mediterranean and exotic exhibition, both worth cheking out, during the summer months there is also a butterfly exhibit and some reptiles. A lovely souvenir shop to remember the visit by.

Nina U — Google review

Aquarium is easily reachable and has a couple of great parking lots nearby. In addition to sea animals, there is an exhibition regarding the naval history of Istria and Kvarner. There are a lot of animals to see (sharks, a number of different fish species, corals, seashells, reptiles and jellyfishes). On top of the aquarium is a nice viewpoint with view of the open sea. There are a lot of exhibitions that are interactive and everything is described in a rather detailed way, so it's fun and educative at the same time.

Alen V — Google review

Very nice aquarium with additional exotic area since this years August. A ideal place to go with kids in case of bad weather. Many different fishes and creatures of the sea can be explored. We visited it as a family and will definitely come back.

Michael Z — Google review

Nice place to spend some time in holiday. Aquarium is in the fortress in 3 flores. Price is suitable for aquarium. Friendly staff.

Dejan P — Google review

Nice, well maintained aquarium. Children and adults will find it interesting. Ticket price 20 euros.

Андрей Л — Google review

Nice exbition. You can take your time and read about all the fish. They also have an option of audio guide. Alongside aquariums, there is also a historical exhibition about the fort. I especially liked the sea turtles rehabilitation programme. You can buy tickets online and enter through priority line. Overall, pleasant experience and would recommend it.

Žan P — Google review

It’s terrible! The animals are living in very small spaces and it looks like the aquariums weren’t cleaned in a realllyyyy long time.. my stomach hurts after being here. When I asked the staff she also couldn’t tell me how often it got cleaned and told me the filter does it. Definitely don’t support this!

Renske Z — Google review

Nice aquarium that was converted from a fort, great place to take the kids. There is a very steep tunnel to get to the lower exhibits so just be careful if you have a stroller or any wheels.

Kaitlin M — Google review

Amazing aquatic exhibits... great variety of sea life, fresh and salt water. Small, medium and large to very large tanks, plankton to mid-sized sharks. PLUS, this is a real military maritime history museum at the same time! Amazing. Buy tickets in advance... there were lines that we skipped!

The Temple of Augustus, a majestic structure dating back to 2BC, stands on the former site of the Roman city's Forum. This remarkable example of Roman architecture is made of perfectly uniform square stones. Over time, it underwent various transformations - from a church to a granary and eventually serving as a museum for stone monuments since the early 19th century. Today's temple is an accurate reconstruction after being heavily damaged in World War II bombings.

Amazing Temple in the portside center of Pula. It's also surrounded by other amazing Roman sites.

David D — Google review

If you’re in Pula, there’s no reason not to go. A quick trip is all you need to see this piece of history. They even have a designated selfi-spot for those in need of a new social medial display picture. There’s a fee to go inside (a very small one) and we found this place by accident so we were unprepared to go in.Overall, it’s located in a beautiful area and what we could see through the door was also beautiful. Definitely recommend taking 20 or 30 minutes to check it out.

Jeffrey B — Google review

A beautiful temple still standing after more than two thousands of years of life. There's little to see inside but personally I think it's worth paying the 2 euro fee if you're a history lover.

Simone U — Google review

Beautiful temple located in the main square/old forum. Entry is included in the Pula card or, you can pay at the door. It looks amazing both day & night as it transforms in each setting. Highly recommend just taking time to sit back & enjoy the view, even if you don’t know the history behind it.

Karolina ( — Google review

Totally cool place! Small but worth your time, the square is awesome we had dinner at the restaurant right in front of the Temple of Augustus it was amazing and the view... World class!

Jeff P — Google review

Looks nice but not much there. We didn't bother going inside as you had to pay and it didn't seem worth it. The kind of place that's good for a photo and then move on.

Rich H — Google review

Small but interesting temple, that once was part of a larger complex with three temples, built during the lifetime of Emperor Augustus early 1st century CE and dedicated to him. When I was there november 2022 the inside was closedAt the back of the Town Hall next to this temple you can see the remains of the Temple of Diana that once stood there

Seimen B — Google review

A lot of history and best to visit early in the morning when the square is empty, otherwise please be patient if you want to take a great picture. Beside the Colosseum, fortress this square and the temple are a must see in Pula.

Tibi N — Google review

Beautiful historical place. If you are going to visit the Amphitheatrum I do recommend visiting this Temple too. It is kinda close to it. Must watch, but go there on foot because there is NO parking nearby, only if you are really lucky. Although it is nice,in my opinion it is NOT worth going inside for that money. If you are interested in history then yes, but elsehow i do not recommend.

Dominik F — Google review

Peaceful environment and many restaurants available here.

Jessica L — Google review

It is a pity to find it like abandoned.I'm not sure if i see much care from Pula city townhall to preserve this and others historical places. In my opinion this is a mine gold they need to preserve...Bit disappointing the city historical places in terms of conservation. Not appealing to return another time

Helder F — Google review

Surprising historical building in the centre of town between normal buildings. Ancient building, and you can visit it inside - tickets (2 EUR per adult person). Inside some ancient monuments or pieces of monuments. Worth to see!

The Fortress Kastel, constructed in the 1600s by the Venetians, is a defensive stronghold with commanding vistas of Pula and its bay. Situated on the city's highest hill, this French-style fortress offers a splendid panoramic outlook of the historic center and amphitheater. Originally built in 1632 as a fortification to safeguard both the port and city during the Venetian rule, it stands today as an important and captivating attraction showcasing Pula's rich heritage.

Great viewpoint over Pula!Definitely the fortress worth the visit. You get for a small price an interesting history lesson about Croatia and the region during the years. But on top you get a great overview over the harbour, Pula and a bit of the backcountry.Worth the visit for me.

stockeeey — Google review

There was no castle museum at the time of my visit, just a small one from museum of castle pharmacy and unrelated gift shop. Walking around the castle is fun and provides amazing views of entire town. Best part was the system of WWII tunnels from the castle to 5 different parts of the town. You can re-enter the tunnels by using the same tunnel tickets. The tunnels are clean and cool which makes it a perfect shortcut for a hot summer day.

Vitali H — Google review

A cool museum on a hot day! We took the lift down to Zerostrasse and wandered around the cool underground tunnels. I recommend viewing the exhibitions upstairs first, then gradually working your way down. That way you can exit from the lowest tunnel out onto the street where ever you want to go next.

Katie — Google review

Very cool castle. Wasn’t open when we went but walked around the outside and took pictures. There is an AR app that you can use when inside as well. Link is on the signs outside the citadel.

Brian B — Google review

This is a fortress in the middle of old town up a steep hill. The entrance fee is 20 Kuna but you get almost nothing for it. There are a minor photo exibition and some old cannon inside but nothing more. This place is to be visited solely for its breathtaking views. You can take lifelong pictures of this city as you can see all around every part.

Tam?s F — Google review

Absolutely worth seeing! The castle looks lovely and the tickets aren't too pricey. You can also buy the zerostrasse ticket here and go to the tunnels. Don't miss out on the tunnel just underneath the castle though, it has some really cool fun facts about the history of Pula.

Deni Z — Google review

Took the Zerostrasse tunnel, great history markers inside, to the Citadel. Lots of photo opportunities along the way. At the tower, has both spiral and latter stairs taking you through a narrow opening to the top to witness spectacular views of the harbor, colosseum, and surrounding area. Highly recommend a visit at dusk to capture the sunset.

PJ J — Google review

Paid entrance of 70kn, the views from outside the castle are as good as inside + the view isn’t that great as you will see the port infrastructure behind the nice house rooftop of Pula… If you want to discover more about the culture and history on the castle, that would be the reason to pay for the fee.

Backpack U — Google review

You can enter the castle through the underground catacombs or through the traditional main gate above. The catacombs are very atmospheric, with contemporary pictures. The view from the castle is wonderful and you can see various exhibitions inside.

Vivien L — Google review

Enter only if you are interested in the exhibition or the zerostrasse below it. If you want the views you can get them all simply walking around the fortress instead of inside which I found the hard way.

Maciej P — Google review

As a panoramic viewpoint, is is quite complex and has a 360 degree option to have a great view over the city. The museum is not really recommended. If you want to take nice selfies or pictures, you can do it without purchasing a ticket.

Bertalan F — Google review

Beautiful old fortress on a hill top where you can walk around the ramparts, with many exhibits including 2 large tunnels and a tower. An elevator for the disabled or stollers. It has a small museum tickets can be purchased at the entrance. The tunnels were so fun to explore and the views of the city on top were amazing.

Kaitlin M — Google review

Nice castle and hidden tunnel with museum...

Klaus S — Google review

Newly opened tunnels etc. great place to visit and for views over the city. Interesting exhibitions with a military emphasis. Gives and idea of the fortifications and strategic importance of Pula. Enter via the tunnels and then take a lift to top, otherwise it's a long hard walk up the mountain.

S M — Google review

A small fort that was used in the 20th century.A few exhibitions about the use of the fort in 1914 are within the fort.Standing on the walls of the fort, a beautiful view over the city of Pula and its industrial port can be seen.Climbing the small tower gives an even better overview. After visiting all exhibits, an elevator can be taken down to the Zerostrasse, a small network of underground tunnels.Overall the entry fee of 6€ for adults, or 3€ for children and students, seems fairly priced to me.

David M — Google review

The Fortress is one of the places you have to see. You will learn something from the history, and also rest during the view of the city. There is excellent access to the different floors of the fortress via the elevator.

Ján P — Google review

Beautiful old fortress on a hill top where you can walk around the ramparts, with many layers, including 2 large tunnel levels and a tower - good access, including a lift for the disabled. It has a small museum which gives some history. Tickets available on the door. Recommended

Charles M — Google review

The Pula Citadel is located at the central hilltop of Pula. This historical baroque fortress was constructed in the 17th century. The hilltop and fortress have an interesting and long history. It is advisable to study history at least a bit before visiting. The site offers nice walks, instructional posters and some exhibitions. This site belongs to must-visit list of Pula.

Timo H — Google review

A must! Great sights and attractions, especially the underground.

Adrian W — Google review

This place worths the climb. You need to walk from the center. Up or down, it's faster on the stairs. There is a small bufett and a museum up there not just the fort. Give it a shot! ;)

The Arch of the Sergii is an ancient Roman arch and city gate in Pula, Croatia. It was constructed in 29 BCE as a tribute to the powerful Sergius family's participation in the Battle of Actium. This well-preserved stone arch features sculptures depicting cups, wreaths, and a horse-drawn chariot. Also known as the Porta Aurea or Golden Gate, it served as one of Pula's main city gates with its rich gilded stone decorations.

The honorarytriumphal arch from 27 BC, originally acity gate, was erected as a symbol of the victory at Actium (31BC, Octavian vs. Antony+Cleopatra). Well preserved!

Darek N — Google review

What a beautiful monument and archaeological and architectural gem. It's more or less well preserved and having a coffee with this as a scenery is just amazing.

A Roman arch from 27BC in the middle of the city. It's well preserved and nice to look at. There are cafes close by to drink your coffee and admire. It's very close to the Marina and Pula Arena as well

This is an old gate to old town streets, shops. You have to go through it to get to the marketplace and fish market. If you are there, make a stop and take some pictures because it is respectable and beautiful.

Tam?s F — Google review

A monument of old, still standing today. In a way it still serves as a gate, separating a more modern Pula from the rustic center filled with shops, stores and restaurants. The road leads straight towards the temple plaza and Arena.

Du?an P — Google review

It is an arch on the street - a historical monument that is open 24 hours every day. Lots of detailed work on the arch is still visible.

Steven R — Google review

2000 year old arch, one of the oldest arches of the Ancient Roman Empire. Even older than those you can see on Forum Romanum. Absolutely worth seeing

Sergey S — Google review

Interesting place in the centre of Pula. Ancient building. If you go through it, you will find on the street with many shops and restaurants.

Alicja J — Google review

Just astounding to think of all the people that have walked beneath this gate since its construction in 29BC. The monument commemorates a Roman military victory at Actium in 27BC, and pays tribute to a prominent local tribune named Lucius Sergius Lepidus.A good place to contemplate the brevity of our time is in this life."For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more. But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children" Ps 103:14‭-‬17

I always fascinated by the way that this arch is been preserved is been there since 27BC.The building is impressive and colossal....I feel sad for some people that does not appreciate the magnificent of the building. Is free to see it, my advice take time to appreciate the architecture around the arch there are some nice cafes to seat and enjoy the scenery

Amphitheater

Sights & Landmarks

Pula Arena, a vast Roman amphitheater in the city of Pula, boasts an underground display dedicated to ancient olive oil and wine production. The town itself showcases a rich historical tapestry, featuring Roman and Venetian architecture that reflects the rule of various leaders throughout its existence. From the Forum to the Roman Catholic Cathedral and remnants from post-World War II, Pula offers a multitude of monuments and architectural wonders that speak volumes about its past.

A stunning amphitheater that’s the best preserved of its kind. Many famous performances have been hosted here in recent times. It’s got super clean toilets and is surrounded by local coffees houses a few minutes walk. From the top seats you can see the sea. Parking is good quality but limited and super busy.

Matthew D — Google review

This is the most important place in the city and one of the well preserved roman architecture monuments in the world. Dating back to the second century this monument is absolutely stunning. It is very well preserved, clean and visiting it early in the morning is a nice thing to do

Alexandra D — Google review

I did a tour of the Arena and then attended 2 Robbie Williams concerts here. The Arena is simply stunning and I enjoyed learning about it’s history. The concerts I attended were fantastic. The sound and atmosphere was perfect and I look forward to visiting again soon.

Hayley T — Google review

Great venue to view. We didn't buy tickets to go in but simply walked around it and looked inside. It is just mind-blowing the building is already there for more than 2000 years. Although it was a hot day you have quite some shading here and there and always a nice bar around for some refreshments.

J L — Google review

It was 10 euro for entry, but due to our journey we did not have time. One of the best preserved roman Amphitheatres! even the walk around the outside was amazing

John D — Google review

Loved my visit to this amazing Roman amphitheatre. It's incredible how it's in such good condition after so many thousands of years. Its amazing how the Romans constructed such a massive and impressive theatre. Highly recommend.

Richard A — Google review

It is very similar structure to the Rome Colosseum. It's big and beautiful place to visit. It's crowded on weekends. There is a chance that the parking place is full especially on weekends. So you will have to park somewhere else in that case. You require a ticket to enter the arena. But honestly, its not at all required. You can see the full insed of the arena from outside for free. You just need to walk up near the backside church and from the fence you get a look of the whole place from inside. So don't buy tickets for inside. You won't see anything special by going in... Its the same view. But the place is very nice to visit with friends and family.

MIHIR S — Google review

Spectacular and well-preserved ancient time monument. However, the entrance was €10 and they don’t provide any information brochures about the place. Genuinely, I wouldn't recommend buying the ticket to go inside. There’s not that much of a difference in the view of the arena that you can see from the outside. The exhibition underground is quite poor too.

Ieva K — Google review

Amazing Roman arena that is located in a setting overlooking the glittering Adriatic. A great place to start your tour of this incredibly interesting and lively city. Parking and the waterfront both right there.

Aaron O — Google review

I was shocked to tell you the truth how this Pula Arena is so look alike Colosseum in Rome. Beautiful architecture near the sea. I didn’t buy tickets and didn’t enter the Arena itself only went around, believe me it’s great place for like a few million photos. When I was there it was 29 Celsius and clear sky, I wonder how it looks and what atmosphere Pula Arena has when it’s raining or just cloudy weather. For sure Pula is great place to visit for vacation and Pula Arena is just a reminder of how capable was people very long time ago that they built a structure that stands till today. Enjoy you stay in Pula.

It was our first time seeing this historical place. We paid €10 each which we thought was a little over priced. It would have been nice to see more written information. The area is a little run down and there is not a lot of parking. If your in the area check it out but I wouldn’t suggest driving to far to see it.

Such a beautiful and well maintained Coliseum. If you love history and architecture you must see this. You can walk the grounds with ease, as long as you are ok with some stair.

Guillermo F — Google review

Beautiful piece of human history, a 2000+ years old Roman arena, surprisingly well preserved. There's an entrance fee (90 kn at the moment), but you can simply walk around it and see the inside from every angle. However, if you wish to see it from the inside I'd recommend visiting it during one of various events that are often hosted there (gladiator fights with actors, concerts, etc.), as that's when it most comes alive.

Aleksandar S — Google review

Entrance fee: 10 Euro regular, 5 Euro student. Not very busy at the time of oir visit. You can freely walk around the arena. Don't miss to go down to the underground area where you can have a look at the different vessels and the history behind it. It's also lot cooler underground if you need to escaoe from the heat for few minutes. Not as big as the colosseum in Rome of course but still worth the price if you're visiting the city.

Alex W — Google review

Very busy even on a weekday, but cool to see the ruins in the middle of the city. Parking nearby is nearly impossible. Lots of little shops around to check out and within walking distance from the centre.

Gillian R — Google review

Nice place to check out however, not overly impressed, at least not in relation with the price requested for entry.Plus: the fact that it’s offering a descent into the underground of the roman amphitheater. You get to see some interesting machinery for producing wine and oil as well as antique amorphas. The underground is quite small however.Minus: the 10 euro entry ticket is extremely expensive for what the place has to offer compared to other amphitheaters I have seen.

Ana N — Google review

The entrance fee is currently €10 per person. However, it is absolutely worth it. You can experience how it must have felt being a Gladiator standing in this arena fighting these vicious animals. Just amazing!

Peter S — Google review

It is a great historical place to visit during your city trip. Worth visiting. The view is great. Parking is available at a very low price nearby. There is a very clean and well maintained park nearby to have a nice walk. I would recommend a visit.

Akshaya G — Google review

Impressive structure that is well preserved. Sitting in the stands, you can really get a feel for the scale of the place. We visited in the evening, and the setting sun made for some amazing views of the illuminated cranes in the harbour.

Mark D — Google review

Pula arena is a must see if you are there. Anytime you can see roman ruins or architecture while in Europe you should do it. The guide we had was outstanding which very needed to understand what you are seeing.

Dodgers' F — Google review

A must see in Pula the Roman Amphitheatre is largely intact and very impressive when you first see it as you walk down the road. The entrance to get in is €10 which is more than worth it.

John F — Google review

Very impressive and beautifully preserved amphitheater, located directly at the harbor. If you pass by here you should definitely take a look. The exhibition in the catacombs of the amphitheater is also exciting. However, I think the entrance fee of ten euros is a bit high. If you're afraid to enter, you can also look at the whole thing from the outside.

Edgar B — Google review

Awesome and majestic ✨️. It was definitely more intact than I thought it would be. It has been well kept up. Big part of the Croatian history. Worth seeing.

Julia S — Google review

In my opinion, the amphitheater in Pula is slightly smaller than in Verona (Italy), but it is still amazing. Well-maintained attracts tourists. To this day, performances and concerts are held there. Knowing that we can admire a monument from 2,000 years ago stimulates the imagination. We can feel the history and grandeur of this amphitheater, touch the blocks of white limestone from which it was built. We can also visit the underground - there are, among others: Roman vases. There is also a souvenir shop and toilets.

Agnieszka R — Google review

A monumental structure preserved from Roman times. Looks impressive. Of course it doesn’t reach the level of the Colosseum, but overall it’s a very majestic and beautiful building.

Sergey S — Google review

Nice place to visit, good to at least walk around. Unfortunately it was closed (we visited it after the season during some maintenance work). It's easy to reach with car, even bigger one (we had motorhome in standard size).

Natalia W — Google review

Enjoyed sightseeing the Amazing Amphitheatre in Pula which is a rather intact and complete historical arena. It is rather impressive, to be standing out there, amidst such an old and well preserved historical structure. Our tour group got to Pula from Rijeka. Go downstairs to view and read about some exhibits. Additionally, when you are outside in the arena and able, take the stairs on either side, which allows you to reach the top of the spectator stands for a better view, so as to take more panaromic photographs.

Helen L — Google review

The Pula Arena is one of the 6 largest remaining magnificent old roman amphitheatres. Located in the centre of Pula, it's easy to find. Access fee applies yet a walk around the structure will also give a good impression. Please like this review if found useful. Thank you.

Zip line rides over wooded cliffs from a popular cave area, with dramatic views of the town Pazin.

Very nice ride. Very professional and nice people. Not too long, opens your appetite for more😆

A lovely place with friendly staff and a wonderful atmosphere, a great way to spend the time. The price is fair for a short ride and the staff are absolutely wonderful, they make the experience even more enjoyable. I've been here twice, this year and last year and this year they remembered my family and gave us complementary shirts. I'll definitely be coming back!

Scary but safe. Professional stuff, great place!

Great guides and location. Good value for money, 22 Euro.

Amazing expirience! I was scared at first but the hosts were so kind, professional and reassuring and I did it! It was incredible and I highly recommend this place especially If you never been to a zip-line and are nervous.

Top and safe experience!!! Great atmosphere and great guides. They ensure everyone has fun. 👍🏽

Fantastic adventure, great feeling, beautiful view while there, it ends too fast...

Hrvoje D — Google review

Great adventure for adrenaline loving people. The zip line consists of two "routes", first one is shorter and second is longer and faster. Amazing views in both of them. You reach around 45km/h depending on weight.Whole process including putting safety harness, instructions, ride and walk back to start station takes around 45 min. The reason is, that you are put together with other people in a group of around 12 persons and you have to wait for everyone to make their ride. Its super safe and staff was very professional. Would go again anytime. Well worth 22€.

Marek F — Google review

The view is beautiful, definitely worth a visit! And the staff are very polite, helpful and entertaining. This whole experience was made 10x better because of them. Highly recommend!

We have taken our visitong friends here many times. Just the tqo zip lines now - but well worth 22 Euro.

Great experience - very professional team and top setup! Highly recommended!

It was so much fun. The people working there were very kind, everything was explained well. Felt very safe going down the Zip Line. I was secured well and multiple times the whole time. The braking system is great too, so we didn't have to worry about that. I had any questions answered. On our next Croatia trip I will definately come back

Nata W — Google review

Yes this is a cheap activity, but really unimpressive on all counts, very dissapointed, with lots of padding showing photos to make the time up. On-the-go plus side, the 2 guides are really nice & helpful, & speak great English...

The ride is short but gives an experience. Beautiful scenery. Very friendly staff with perfect English.

Fantastic program! Exciting, special. The tour is led by two friendly experts. We get a helmet. During the entire tour, you have to step over rocks, climb, and in some places there is also a rope belay. The rocks are slippery and require a little skill. You cross the rocks and the water twice on a short wire rope course. In the depths of the cave, you see experience an interesting presentation on a tablet, and then you can feel the experience of real darkness. You can only see it with expert.

Dr É — Google review

Nice adventure. The two Ziplines in the cave are causing lots of waiting time until 15 people crossed in both ways. The trip would take 45-60 mins instead of 2,5 hours if it was just a walking path. However, at least a quite nice experience for the Kids. Cost was 30 / 25 € for adults / kids (in 2021)

Michael T — Google review

What a fantastic experience! I was never even in a "big cave" until last year, and this was the first time I spelunked! Took me 69 years, but this is a great place to start, easy, but challenging, and our two guides, Sacha & Sacha, were outstanding. They made sure we were safe and got a good education.

Norm Y — Google review

Incredible experience, very competent and friendly staff, amazing cave and canyon...

Morten S — Google review

Very informative and adventurous cave tour. We were late but the guides were very patient with us and didn’t hurry us. The cave is quite humid and thus quite slippery so the guides always watch out for us and give us helpful tips. We learned a lot and also had fun exploring this cave without any electricity. Highly recommended!!

Wonderful adventure. Discovery tour of the caves with good guides. A little physical fitness is required.

René K — Google review

The cave is very wonderful to see, but a bit challenging. The guides are great and think about everyone's safety at all times. There were two short zip lines in the cave which was quite exciting. The guides also show you different animals which live in the cave and videos of cave exploration. I would recommend visiting if you're in Istria :)

Kristina Z — Google review

We were there with chidern. It was werry nice and interresting. Guids great. We recommand this visit wery strongly👍👍

Great and informative adventure with two kind and experienced guides. Thank you for the nice mini expedition! For all planning to come here: listen to what you are told when you are booking (which is of course necessary)! Hiking shoes and surefootedness are mandatory in my opinion. Also some kind of physical fitness should be given, this is not only a simple walk! But it's worth it 🙂

Nature & Parks

Skocjan Caves, a natural wonder in Slovenia, is an extraordinary underground network of fossil-filled caves with a river and canyons. The cave system was carved out by the Reka River over the past two decades and is home to huge, spectacular subterranean chambers that must be explored. The caves offer guided tours to visitors who can witness its beauty up close; it's recommended for visitors to wear warm clothing and sturdy footwear while exploring.

Incredible place, absolutely breathtaking. The murmuring river in the underground canyon leaves unforgettable impression. The scenes inside are like in Lord of the Rings (or Portal 2 game on underground levels). When you're leaving the cave, you have 3 options to get back to the initial point: two short routes and one long. It's really worth to take the longest route (#3, takes 40min) and see all the beauty of the canyon.Unfortunately, photos are forbidden inside, even without flash, there is a monitoring (however, a lot of people still do it)

Andrei B — Google review

The tour was stunning. I must say, the cave was bigger and even more impressive than in all the pictures you see of it. I was just astonished most of the times. It does get a little bit hard if you’re afraid of heights because there is a bridge really high up that you need to cross, but the feeling of seeing everything going on in this cave is remarkable

Kim : — Google review

If you're looking for an amazing underground adventure, I highly recommend checking out these caves. They were much bigger than expected, with an awe-inspiring array of natural formations and stunning underground landscapes. One of the best things about these caves was how accommodating the staff were when we were late for our original booking. Despite our tardiness, they still made sure we were able to experience the tour and see all the incredible sights. However, it's worth noting that there were many people on the tour, which may not be ideal for those who prefer smaller crowds. That being said, the incredible sights were definitely worth the company. One thing to keep in mind is that visitors aren't allowed to take pictures inside the cave. However, at the end of the tour, you're able to snap a few shots to capture the experience.Overall, if you're looking for an amazing underground adventure, these caves are definitely worth checking out. While the crowds may be a bit larger than desired, the stunning natural formations and accommodating staff make it an unforgettable experience. Just don't forget to bring a camera for the end of the tour!

Jayne S — Google review

Such a great experience. If you go, definitely take the red trail when you come out of the cave. Be sure to get reservations in advance. All of the tours were sold out on the day we went. The initial portion of the guided tour does not allow photography which is unfortunate, but I guess it keeps the tours moving.

P G — Google review

Spectacular in size and impressive. It is like visiting underground canyons with river rapids. The scenery is stunning both inside and outside. We definitely recommend to do the long trail. It is very different from Postojna caves, they are not comparable.

Inès H — Google review

I was absolutely blown away by this cave. There is a silent section with stalagmites and stalactites, an amazing walk. The path leads to the other bigger cave where the river flows.Pictures are forbidden inside the cave, but it’s allowed at the very end. I would recommend to visit this place. You won’t be disappointed.I would also recommend to take the longer rout back to the starting point. It’s a very easy walk with steps, but the view is amazing.

Suzie G — Google review

Looked expensive at 22 euros for the guided tour, but absolutely worth it. Tour is a bit more than an hour through the main caves, and afterwards you can do another unguided part for 30min to 1hour which is amazing. In may it is still not that busy. Highly recommended.Note that photos are not allowed in the guided part of the tour

Christiaan M — Google review

Absolutely gorgeous place, breathtaking cave. Definitely must-see place. 24€ per adult, recommend online reservation. Taking pictures not allowed in the main cave. Just hide your phones and enjoy the cave.

Jakub T — Google review

We had an amazing experience here on a stormy day. By far the most beautiful and biggest cave I have ever visited. Plus, it’s very affordable and the tour guide shares interesting information. The group is quite big, but that turned out to be okay as the guide made sure that everyone could understand him well.

Fennie T — Google review

One of a kind cave experience. The tour is guided for the duration in the caves (about 1.5 hours). The first part of the caves with the stalagmite and stalactite formations, although impressive, are pretty common in most caves. What came after that was the true awe-inspiring and jaw-dropping experience of the Skocjan Caves. The enormity of the space with the sound of the gushing river below is an indescribable experience. Very minimal but effective lighting inside the caves add to the enigma and ambience of the natural wonder. Well worth the ticket price and a visit here. It helps to visit the free museum at the entrance while waiting for the start of your tour to understand how the pioneers explored the caves so that you can see and relate when you are on your guided tour inside the caves. Wear good non slip shoes as the floors are wet in the caves.

KS L — Google review

Absurdly breathtaking, the most extraordinary cave experience I've had. The underground canyon is mesmerizing and feels like you have stepped into a scene from Lord of The Rings. The steps can be a little strenuous and the ground a tad damp so pack in comfortable hiking boots and long sleeves as it can be chilly. No photos are allowed in the caves themselves to preserve the natural light (or lack of it) as much as possible. They even turn off the navigation lights between tours. An absolute must foe those seeking out the grandeur of caving.

Eden T — Google review

The most beautiful cave I have every visited. It is amazing to see that nature can create such massive caves underground. Be aware that the cave has become a big tourist attraction and that buying tickets beforehand is highly recommended. Visiting the cave is done in groups of 40 with a guide. Inside of the cave it is NOT allowed to take any pictures (only at the exit). At the exit of the cave there are three options of returning to the main building. I recommend taking the longest route, if the walking doesn't bother you, as it will take you through some extra caves where you can take some pictures.

Thomas C — Google review

Very highly recommended for the nature lovers. Many thousands years old limestone caves filled with millions of drip stones (stalactites ) and stalagmites, and one of the world’s largest underground river canyons. The cave is throughout well lit and provided with safety railings along the canyons. There are so many amazing chambers, one of them called the hades chamber is the most spectacular with the largest stalagmite of Europe and one of the largest in the world. There is a guided tour available for 22€, which is absolutely worth the time and the price. Really amazing team of tour guides, very friendly, attentive and informative. Towards the end of the guided tour they provide you with three options to return to the initial point. Two of the routes take you further for small hikes. Unfortunately we had to take the shorter route of 20 minutes, which was mostly stairs. There comes a small detour for the splash falls, which is really awesome. Although the photos are strictly forbidden inside, but people do manage to capture secretly. There is a big parking place with lots of space available.

Animesh K — Google review

These caves were crazy awesome. The tour was fun and I formative, but the caves are just so big. I felt like I was in an Indiana jones movie. So great. At the end of the tour there is a short walk back and a longer one. DO THE LONGER WALK! It is seriously worth the extra 30 min, and you get to see bonus caves and very nice landscapes.

Travis H — Google review

This was the most amazing caves I’ve ever seen, and is definitely a must see if you ever visit Slovenia!!Remember to buy a guided tour ticket in advance. Our tour guide, Vesna, was just the best, really good at explaining and telling stories about the caves! You are not allowed to take pictures inside the caves, which really makes you take in the experience. There are good facilities at the visitor center, where you can buy food and souvenirs. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Slovenia

J B — Google review

Although it's not allowed to take photos in the caves (the place is on the UNESCO list) you are guaranteed to have the greatest experience of your life. To my mind, it is a far more authentic and less commercial attraction than the Postojna cave...REMEMBER TO BUY THE TICKETS IN ADVANCE!!!

Elżbieta Z — Google review

It’s hard to put into words how incredible these caves are/ the experience walking through this cave. The tour was incredible, and I appreciate not being able to take pictures inside as it forces you to focus on the true, raw, natural beauty. The river rushes through as you walk along the dimly lit path. The tour guides are super knowledgeable and it is definitely worth a visit. One of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen in my life. As a freshwater ecologist, I was in heaven!

Grace K — Google review

Amazing place and worth visiting! No pictures allowed on the guided part of the tour, but are allowed during the self-guided tour after. Spend the time to visit! When we visited, guided tours (which are strictly required to visit the area) departed every hour. Our host Natasha was excellent! Hvala!

Chris M — Google review

It's hard to find the right words to describe the Skocjan Caves. This place is magical and so raw. I've been to several caves, but this one made a fantastic impression on me. The Skocjan Caves are so huge that you can easily feel the space. Phenomenal rock formations - stalactites and stalagmites, plus a rushing river beneath us. You are not allowed to take photos in the main area. We chose the longest trail - it's beautiful, it was a bull's-eye.

Agnieszka R — Google review

The caves are amazing, there is some massive caves. The tour guide is very informative. The pathway is well lit up, not too bad walking around. There is the river that is so loud when we get nearer

Aisling H — Google review

Definitely worth the visit. From the meeting point we had to do a short walk to the cave entrance at which point the rules were explained and the groups were formed. The initial sections of the cave weren’t that interesting but the canyon area is truly amazing. You can hear and see the water rushing through.Compared to Postajna Cave, this one was much better organized. Being less popular also contributes to a better experience.

Marcio M — Google review

Love it! It is so worth it to visit it. I don't have a lot of pictures, because of safety, it is prohibited to take them. But I have a lot of nice memories.. it is open-minded and has a wow effect. We were during October, so it wasn't so touristic, but of course, the tickets are better to buy online.

Dominika V — Google review

We visited the Skocjan Caves recently, and it was an incredible experience. The natural beauty of these caves is awe-inspiring. The underground chambers, stalactites, and stalagmites are a testament to the wonders of nature. The guided tour was informative, and our guide was knowledgeable about the geological history of the caves. The highlight was definitely the enormous underground canyon with the rushing river. It felt like being in a different world. The organization and facilities at the site were excellent, making the visit comfortable and enjoyable. However, one thing that disappointed me was the prohibition on taking photographs inside the cave, it would have been wonderful to capture some memories of this remarkable place.I would also caution against visiting the souvenir shop on the premises. The salesperson there was unfriendly and seemed disinterested in helping tourists, which was a stark contrast to the overall positive experience of the caves.Despite these drawbacks, I highly recommend visiting the Skocjan Caves to anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature and geological wonders. It's a must-see attraction in Slovenia.

Oleg R — Google review

Under UNESCO protection the biggest underground canyon in Europe. One hour of descent into darkness....well if u see when they turn the lights off behind you. Total darkness, amazing.

Rok S — Google review

Very impressive. The tour would remind you of lord of the rings. Also very different from Postojna cave but definitely worth it. Guide was in English and explained well however sometimes not good to hear due to the environment or echo. The doline is very pretty and there are viewpoints or tours that you can follow by yourself. Recommended to buy tickets in advance.

Castle

Sights & Landmarks

Predjama Castle, located 9km from Postojna in Europe, is an impressive fortress that was built within a cave on the side of a 123m cliff. The castle's four storeys were constructed gradually over the years starting from 1202, but the majority of what can be seen today dates back to the 16th century. Its location and design make it appear impenetrable and it features restored living quarters as well as dungeons and even a secret tunnel.

Predjama castle is located approximately 15-minute drive from the highway E61 and 10 minutes from the Postojna Caves, so it is convenient to visit both in the same day. We purchased combined ticket (Castle+Caves) for approx. 40 EUR per person. Parking was not difficult to find, however we arrived relatively late at around 16:30 (castle was closing at 17:00), so I imagine during the peak hours the situation might be different. There are no guided tours inside the castle, instead you get an audio guide (included in the ticket price) which was available in many languages (at least 15). The explanations were helpful, straight to the point and relatively short, so for me that was one of the best audio guide experience. It took us around 45 minutes to properly explore the castle. Normally castle is open until 17:00 but we were leaving the premises at around 17:15 and no one was pushing us out.It does indeed look magnificent as almost the whole castle is covered by huge rock. You get to explore many different rooms, some of them looking more like caves and others like actual livable rooms. There are some nice viewing points of the valley at several terraces located in the castle. It is definitely worth to visit as there are not many "cave castles" around the world! There are couple of restaurants in the proximity of the castle and restrooms near the parking lot.

Pavel D — Google review

This is just amazing which is definitely on my top list of the castles. Very well organized, audio guide in details, reasonable visit routine with a lot of attractions. Even the kids can enjoy the whole tour which is not easy for sure. Highly recommended!

Diva S — Google review

Touring this castle was one of my favorite activities on a two week adventure that was filled with amazing sights. Different from other castles. The self-regulated audio tour is important in understanding the history of the castle.

Mona M — Google review

Very unique castle built into a cave. Audio tour gives interesting details as you walk through the castle. Easy to do the tour at your own pace

Ron H — Google review

Very interesting castle and history with the included audio guide. There's a decent amount of walking up stairs and through the rooms, but it's evenly spaced with audio guide sections which are numbered to listen. The parking is average an consists of a paved area with about 50 bays. After this fills up, you park in a grassed marshy paddock which is a bit hard to get in and out once more people start coming. Other than that, good castle but make sure you get there early

Alex — Google review

Exterior? Unbelievable. Interior? More to be desired but the cave element and the access into the walkway into the cave is extremely cool and I'm glad I went. The views outside are wonderful! Come rain or shine it's worth it because images of the exterior don't allow you to see the clouds in the sky!!

Lee F — Google review

Absolutely magical place to visit. We got there in the later afternoon and booked an audio tour that leads you through the castle. Very informative and interesting information about such a unique place. Staff were friendly and views from the castle are spectacular. A must see when you are in Slovenia.

Amazing castle build in the rocks. Just imagine the work it should have been in the 13th century. The guided audio tour is awesome and gives you a lot of information. Book this together with the cave and your day is complete.

Amazing castle , at the entrance you choose the listening devices that act like guides and they're available in 9 different languages. Also I would recommend going on a little hike on the side of the river below the castle.

Great looking castle with a really nice audio guide included in the price and with a free app if you don't want to hold guide by your ear al the time. The guide really gives a nice value as it points a lot of interesting solutions they used in the castle to use the rock and Cave merging with the castle

Incredible!! For those who like historical places and medieval stuff, this place offer all of this!We were surprised by the place and the high level of preservation shown.Even the kids - that were naturally skeptical of the place - in the end had so much fun and appreciated very much the place, with the support of the audio guide!

Wonderful visit, both caves under castle and castle itself. Luka was our guide for caves, well prepared and funny. Inside castle I found funny the soldiers around rooms that scary tourists.

This is just an amazing castle …. A dream place full of adventures and surprises in side … bring comfortable shoes and with some grip this place is natural wet … there is not lifts…. The castle is full of hidden corners that takes you to a nice natural cave. You need a car or a tourist bus to reach this place . You must pay for parking per hour. The castle is in the world Guiness records of the largest castle built on a cave. They have audio Guia in many languages. People were polite and nice. You must reserve in advance tickets if you don’t want disappointments specially during summer time.

Castle was amazing, absolutely loved it. Highly recommend booking tickets online and using your phone for QR codes. When you get the old part of the castle inside the cave, wow. The water capture was very clever. Would love to cone back for some caving here.

It was a great experience. I've never seen a castle inside of a cave. The history of it and the unique architecture that is part of it, are also great to listen to.Hard to imagine life over there that time but they did it. If you are somewhere around just turn here and you won't regret it. Nearby is also a small local pub with some local stuff. Thank you🤩

Great experience visiting this historic castle. We got tickets at the door as we visited in low season but I would suggest reserving tickets online to make sure you do not miss out!

Predjama Castle is an absolute marvel of medieval architecture nestled within the stunning Slovenian countryside. From its dramatic cliff-side perch to its fascinating history of sieges and secrets, visiting this castle feels like stepping back in time. The guided tours offer insightful glimpses into its past, while the surrounding caves add an extra layer of mystique to the experience. A must-visit for history buffs and adventurers alike!

Ilias B — Google review

Really nice castle built into the cave. The day we went was quite crowded and a bit overwhelming. However, this is not something you want to miss if you’re in town. Here you are given a self guided audio tour, offered in many languages. The castle itself is well curated, but be careful because the stair cases that are connected to the cave part of the castle are very slippery and many people fell. It’s best to go slow and hold on to the railing. You can access this castle by taking the free bus. This bus comes from the train station - bus station - predjama caves - to the castle. Check the website for the times.

Grace K — Google review

I am more inclined to visit nature than churches, castles, etc. With that said, this castle was one of the highlights of our trip and I am so happy we went inside. The audioguide shares interesting stories and facts about the castle, we really listened to every single one. It is fun to walk the whole castle.I would definitely recommend visiting.

Suzie G — Google review

One of the nicest castles i have visited. The castle is located inside of the rocks and that is truly a unique experience to see this. We had an audioguide and were very interested. In every room you can see old furniture, weapons and armour, ... At the end of the tour you'll go inside the rocks behind the castle. This was something i have never seen before. Really worth a visit. The lady in the gift shop was really friendly. (and there's a cat!!)

Aline L — Google review

a beautiful castle set into the side of a mountain.. the app we used for the castle tour was really good and gave lots of useful information during the tour. everything was clearly sign posted so we knew what we were needed to listen to. overall a wonderful experience- highly recommend this as a stop over on your travels

Corri Z — Google review

A truly amazing Castle with a beautiful view. It was very interesting listening to it’s history (they provide audio players). We bought tickets at the small shop when we arrived. If you visiting with babies make sure you have a carrier or just hold them. Lots of stairs (Castle is inside a cave basically). I cannot imagine living in those times in that Castle, it’s just amazing to picture everything in your head. If you are near by, make sure to make a stop here. Is worth the visit!

Hilarie C — Google review

Absolutely beautiful castle surrounded by stunning scenery. It has a fascinating history.I recommend coming early because it can quickly get crowded. Also bring a hoodie and good shoes as it can get cold and slippery in the castle. There is a free audio guide app that is essential to the experience. You can download it near the entrance as there is free wifi for just that.

Nikola P — Google review

This medieval castle, which is the largest cave castle in the world, is still intact after 800 years. You'd wonder how they managed to attach a castle to a cave when cement, screws and drills hadn't been invented yet. I had an audio guide explaining different chambers/ rooms. Beware that there are many steps and uneven paths.

Joyce . — Google review

Incredibly unique castle. It was very interesting to see it from inside too, more from a ‘how it was made’ point of view. If you have trouble climbing stairs then pls don’t buy a ticket. We got the tickets in the spot.

Mona J — Google review

Stunning castle that is located in a cave and surrounded by a farming village. The place is definitely worth visiting when in Slovenia and takes an hour to get to from Ljubljana by bus. Worth noting a cab is needed from the Pastojna bus station to the castle. All the shops were closed as we went during off season.

Beautiful castle but it is small, so if you can visit when there is less tourists do it! Also there are many slippery stairs so it is not the best place to go with children. Great audio guide in many languages :)

co*cktail bar

Live music venue

Movie Bar is a popular spot in the Labin-Rabac region, known for its great co*cktails and evening entertainment. The bar offers reasonably priced drinks, with an average cost of 5-6 Euros in 2019. Nestled among pine trees, it provides natural shade and a beautiful view. The atmosphere is relaxed, with lounge bar seating and just the right music volume. It's a cool place near the waterfront where you can chill out with a beer or co*cktail while enjoying smooth music.

Cool place near the waterfront but with plenty of shade to chill out at. Coffee was good, we also had some nice naturally flavoured water (mint, lime), and the waitress was nice.

Edward A — Google review

Its the only place with real shade.Nice trees give a good protection.Ambiance is perfect, directly situated at the promenade and view over the sea.Good drinks for reasonable prices.BUT waiters seems to be nerved having guests around. Prefer sitting at their table instead walking around. If you order sonething it is like, "ok, If you really want i will do it".. .

Kistl K — Google review

Nice, shady bar that's great for an afternoon break from the sun. Relaxed atmosphere in the evening as well. A large range of reasonably priced drinks are available (Beer ~€4.50, co*cktails €7-8). Staff were always nice and friendly, but could be just that little bit more attentive and quicker to earn that 5th star.

Andrew O — Google review

Good shade during hot days. Nice music. Service is a bit slow but staff is very nice. Rest room is not great and during the day you have to pay to use it.

Goran M — Google review

Definitely my favorite bar in the Labin-Rabac region!Great co*cktails, they don't hold back on alcohol. Prices are more than reasonable (average around 5-6 Euros in 2019). Atmosphere is perfect. Pine trees all around giving natural shade, lounge bar seating, nice and helpful staff and a beautiful view. Music is just right and not loud.Highly recommended!!!

We loved it here, it's so quiet and calm. Not overcrowded at all, free choice to place your tent wherever you'd like to. Enough trees to lay in your hamock all day, nice little pool, clean bathrooms. This place clearly has it's history and we thouhgt it was really charming. Wandering around in the woods in the morning and seeing the light beams shining threw the branches is truly relaxing.

Hannah H — Google review

We spent one night here - 2 people 1 camper car for 22,50€.WC and shower stalls are in the basem*nt. There are also a cooking and a washing station available.Everything was clean but quite cold end of October. The bathrooms aren’t warmed up - and a little aged to be honest.

Laura D — Google review

good camping, high up in the mountains, not new but maintained well. Cabins have everything you need, but not more. perfect for a few days, but would not recomend for longer than a week.

Geoffrey R — Google review

Very nice and cozy place. We stayed both in bungalows and in a tent and everything it's clean, it's a quiet place, people are very helpful: I was out of gas, and the guys from receptions solved my issue in 20 minutes! There are minor negative things but without relevance, so I will not point it out. A good breakfast each morning, 3 km away from Postojna Cave, couple of restaurants around. Also nice and clean pool.

Mihai C — Google review

This camping perfect for one night stay near Postojna Cave. The house was clean with a little bathroom. We had plentiful and delicious breakfast. Fresh bread, hams, fried eggs, several kinds of cheese and vegetables. The forest is quiet and very cozy. Very nice place. Totally appropriate value for money.

Maria C — Google review

They forgot us to tell we need to order bread for the next day. Great camping site in the woods. Restaurant ok, but not bad. Showers and toilets are old but clean. Perfekt located to visit the big cave of Postonja or even a day trip to Ljubljana.

Johannes H — Google review

We stayed in one of the stone huts which had a small (quite badly equipped) kitchen, a dinner table, a toilet and shower and a double bed downstairs and steep spiral stairs up to a mezzanine with 2 single beds. When we arrived there was a terrible smell of damp inside and black stuff on the walls. This smell slightly faded over the 3 nights we were there although when we opened the kitchen cupboards we got wafted with the smell and everything in the cupboard had to be washed again before we used it as it smelled so bad. Despite this, the place did grow on us and it would be quite a nice place it just needs a big revamp. The staff are very friendly and when we informed them of the issue they came down very quickly and offered us either a big discount or for them to move us to a place in the town as all of the other huts were occupied. They did say the damp was due to the floods and ours was the worst affected but the damp was clearly quite old. The forest campsite was very nice with a small clean pool, a basketball court, table tennis and tennis courts but you had to pay a lot to use the courts and they didn't have tennis rackets for people to rent. They had basketballs and table tennis rackets for people to borrow. The restaurant was nice, especially for one on a campsite, and had a variety of dishes. There were also the pivka jama caves on site but they were very expensive for small caves. We were also a half an hour drive from postojna Caves which were massive and amazing. You got a little train down to the centre of the caves then had an hour tour around them. Great activity for everyone.

Jessica B — Google review

Rating for bungalows only, I did not visit the camping area. Everything is super old, showers are clogged flooding the entire bathroom. Walls are damp and cold, buildings smell like mould and cigarette smoke. Beds and mattresses are probably 40 years old, squeaking and cracking with every move. However everything is very clean (as much as is possible with furniture this old), bathroom is clean and gets disinfected, sheets are clean and tidy. Service employees obviously give their best. Still wouldn't really recommend.

Jonas W — Google review

Friendly staff, keeping it simple, affordable camping, placed in a deep peaceful forest setting, very attractive locations for setting tent, basket and tennis playground, routes for biking and trekking..

Boris L — Google review

Excellent camp site with cabins which we used. I. Nature and very quiet. Good facilities.

Eva R — Google review

We went here camping for three daysIt's a big campsite with a free choice of place. We found a quiet spot between the trees which helped us stay cool in the heat. The kids enjoyed the pool very much.I loved the quiet environment and I highly recommend waking up early to take the Pivka Jama and Black Cave tour at 9am.An extra compliment for the staff that is seemingly always present to clean, trim and keep an eye on everything.

Gert-Jan B — Google review

Camping located 10 min away from Postojna Cave. It’s quite old (especially the bathrooms) and quite expensive for what it offers. The mini market is closed, the restaurant doesn’t look interesting at all. It was fine for one night but overpriced and if I new that we could sleep in our campervan at Postojna parking over night for half the price I would do that for sure.

Zosia K — Google review

the employees are very uncouth and make fun of people who don't speak good english. Are very interested in profit, not satisfaction. The restaurant is good. the bungalows not very hygienic. There could have been a broom or something similar in the bungalow, it got dirty unintentionally and no cleaning lady came, even if we stayed for several days.

Ivanka S — Google review

I stayed here for two nights in a tent in May and I really love this campsite! The site is beautifully located in the forest and still had the forest feel. Lot of shade and options to choose pitches with some privacy. There are also many services available like a pool, beachvolleybal, basketball and tennis court. Restaurant has nice food and the people were really kind and helpful. Cave and castle also close by. And this all for a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Esther — Google review

Nice campground with everything you will need. It is quiet and spacious.Bring some good stakes and a hammer as the ground is very compact and hard.Prices are around 15 Euros per person per night if you go there with a car and sleep in a tent.

Wolke — Google review

The fairly spacious campsite is beautifully situated directly in the forest and offers numerous tent and mobile home pitches as well as individual holiday homes. We really liked the forest atmosphere. The site includes a restaurant, a small pool and sanitary facilities that are a bit dated, but which were always clean. Unfortunately, the supermarket is closed. A big advantage is definitely the proximity to the "Postojna Caves".

Mik L — Google review

We went with a camper, there are no set pitches so people stand wherever they like, meaning you pay 40 euros to park on standard parking lot. Make your self a favour and sleep in postojna cave parking lot, it costs only 20 euros. The camper services are very inconvenient and the camping shop is closed.

Jędrzej W — Google review

We stayed 1 night in bungalow nr 22. This bungalow has serious moisture and fungus problems. We were idiots and should never have agreed to stay there. Our estimated life expectancy have now probably been reduced by 5 years. Our syay was originally 2 nights but we got out after 1.

Outdoor Activities

Sveti Ivan Beach is a secluded and stunning destination surrounded by lush vegetation, making it one of the most beautiful beaches globally. It offers unparalleled amenities such as a luxurious bar and restaurant. The turquoise waters and verdant wilderness of Krivica create an enchanting natural beauty that attracts many visitors each season. Accessible via a steep trail, this unspoiled beach is perfect for those who appreciate nature's power but requires visitors to bring their own supplies due to the lack of facilities.

For those who enjoy hiking this beach is the best of both worlds. You get to hike + swim afterwards. We had so much fun, it was worth every step of the way. The water was so clear you can see every single pebble, the beach had maybe 10 people, so you have plenty of space. There were some boats but they didn't stay too long. Take good shoes for hiking, plenty of water, and if you don't want to sunburn, a lot of sunscreen and a tent or a parasol.

Marjana B — Google review

Breathtaking. I felt free as never on the top!But very stressful road up. Suggest to go by motorbikes or bicycles, because you won’t fit two cars on the road. Watch out for your tires 😀

Mi?el K — Google review

Loved it!!The hike to the beach isn't very steep at the beginning but later on there are some parts where it is pretty steep and can get slippery. My gf and I wore regular sneakers and we found that to be sufficient (hiking shoes are not mandatory, and we some some folks in flip flops). It took us 45min in both directions, and for us it was probably easier to go up. As for the directions, the signs are always visible and are easy to follow. At the beach, there's shade in the boundary areas but it's limited, so have that in mind. Also, bring plenty of water and enough food since there are no shops or bars down there. You can refil your water in the town of Lubenice, once you're back up.

Matko R — Google review

Wonderful beach, was there end of June so it wasn't crowded. If you're going on foot, wear proper shoes and bring water.

Jelena ( — Google review

Absolutely stunning beach! The beach is clean, made of pebble stones, the water is crystal clear, transparent, swimming in such an amazing place (you are looking at the town of Lubenice on the cliff is simpli breathtaking)! It takes approximately 15-20 minutes to reach the town of Lubenice after leaving the main road. The path is narrow, surrounded with stone wall. So pay attention. After entering the town a big parking is on the left and the beginning of the hiking trail (that is - path to the beach) is located near the coffee bar.The signs along the path are very well marked. It takes approximately 1 h downhill and 1.5 h uphill. The upper part of the bath is throughout the woods so if has a lot of shade but some parts are a bit slippery (stones) so hiking shoes or sneakers are obligatory!!A wonderful experience on Cres.I visited on a cloudy day, the water was freezing but the experience is unforgettable. ❤️

Diana D — Google review

Awesome beach. Definitely worth a visit. Easiest way to get there is by boat. The hike from Lubenice is quite daunting. Make sure you bring a lot of water and food as there are no shops on the beach. The hike is quite difficult, not for children and mostly on sun. You can park your car in Lubenice. The remote location ensures that the beach is not crowded. Very good place for snorkelling. There is no shade on the beach so make sure you have some sun cover. The beach is made of large pebbles so bring some soft throw. We will definitely come back if we visit the island again.

Daniel H — Google review

Beautiful beach with an amazing 1 hour down and 2 hours up hike. If you are visiting it on foot, take comfortable shoes, and prepare yourself for a very long walk. Do not go on your flip flops, trekking shoes are ideal but you'll be fine with sneakers. Remember to take water, you'll need it. Specially on your way up. It was perhaps my best experience while in Cres.

Nuno S — Google review

Unspoiled nature (yet) that is highly appreciated by those who know never to underestimate the power of it!••TAKE YOUR RUBBISH WITH YOU**Steep trail but worth every step once at the destination. Not for unfit and foolish “flip flop” hikers unless with unlimited health insurance! And yes, there are no facilities whatsoever at the beach WHICH IS PERFECT!That means, (if needed) take food, PLENTY OF WATER, and hats!!!It’s 1hr downhill and 1,5hrs uphill with many breaks! I admire those who do it faster :)UNMISSABLE PLACE and yes it’s FIT FOR CHILDREN if you are geared up properly-they will cherish this memory for a lifetime 💚

Natalija R — Google review

Lubenice is a small village on Cres island, Croatia. Built on the cliff overlooking the coast, it is a remnant of the past with its old stone houses. To reach beach, there is an steep downhill walk on a hiking trail.

The Krizna Cave in Slovenia is an impressive underground cave system with over 20 lakes that visitors can explore by boat. Unlike most other Slovenian caves, the Krizna Cave provides its visitors with lamps and boots for their visit as there is no electric lighting inside. The tour lasts around one to two hours and takes you through the dry parts of the cave, including a short boat ride on the first lake.

Did the 7h tour in a group of four plus our guide Gašper. Were really lucky because the water level and humidity conditions were perfect, so we could still sail comfortably in the little boats and see clearly with the lights on. Excellent example of conservation and care of nature which here comes first before us tourists. This was once in a lifetime experience and I definitely recommend it to those who are able to do it!

Angelina T — Google review

Did the 3.5 hour tour to Kalvarija with Gašper, who was very helpful, friendly and passionate about protecting the cave. Five of us had the whole cave to ourselves - such a sublime experience to be somewhere so beautiful without crowds of people everywhere. Highly recommended.

Matthew H — Google review

Unique experience! Much less touristy than the Postojna caves (also less lighting, you can't see as much but you feel more like the people who first discovered the caves). Be sure to bring cash as there is no electricity to process card payments.

Kendra W — Google review

Very interesting visit. We highly recommend to take the visit also to the bear tunnel because is worth it. The cave doesn't have any artificial light or path, which keeps its originality. The guide was a really enthusiastic woman who explained everything really good. I would definitely reccomend it, also not so crowded with tourist.PS: We found a semi real cave bear xD

Helena K — Google review

This is a great place to have a more 'authentic' cave experience than that on offer at the nearby Postodjna Jama. Without any artificial lighting (except for torches and lighting under the boat) you get a real sense of being underground in monsterous caverns. On paper some of the caverns in the Postodjna Jama system are larger, but they feel much smaller in comparison due to the use of artificial lighting. The guides here are extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic with excellent English. The boat ride and cave bear skull are real highlights. Tours last approximately one hour and waterproof boots and torches are provided. Warm clothing (long trousers and a jumper/fleece) is highly recommended.

Richard D — Google review

The 4hr excursion through the cave lakes was an excellent experience. The cave itself and the underground ecosystem is mesmerising and we also had a fantastic guide - Luka, who had great knowledge, super skills and brilliant humor. Even my male partner "fell in love with him a little bit" which is as big of a compliment as it gets :-D Well done Luka, you made this experience even more special for us with your presence and expertise

Agnieszka S — Google review

Really interesting cave exploration, even though it's much less publicized. They equip you with a flashlight and guide you into the cave. There are no other light sources in the cave, which makes a very cool experience. The only disappointment on 1 hour tour is, that the boat part is very short, around 15 min. I would highly suggest to book longer tours in advance, but note that queue time is quite long.

Peter — Google review

When we arrived at the parking we read that they only accept cash, so we had to drive to the nearest atm some kilometres away to find an ATM. This meant we had to wait for 2hrs till the next tour. The guide first explains the underground system and that we only walk for 650m, followed by a short boat trip and then walk back. The experience underground was incredible, and would love to do a longer tour another time.

Fantastic cave and good guide. We did the short tour, about 1 1/2 hour. Lots if explanation. They also do the 4 and 8/9 hour tours. Only on reservation and a limited nr of people per year. We had a group of 6. Very worth the visit.

Henri B — Google review

Not as popular as the Postocjan or Skocjan caves, but well worth a visit. There are several guided tours available which give you a unique opportunity to explore this cave in a more personal setting. Highly recommended to reach out to them beforehand since the weather (eg lots of rain) might impact the available tours and overall capacity is very limited. Some tours only take 4 people max, because you go further into the cave with a rubber boat. It's impressive to see some fossils and marks of the cave bears (bigger than polar bears) who lived in this cave thousands of years ago. Finally, take it easy on the gravel road towards the cave. Cars go in both directions and space is limited.

Stine B — Google review

This was probably the best tour I have ever done. Gasper, the tour guide, was able to get a tour for us with only one days notice to the first lake and the bear cave for my family of six. The cave was amazing and unlike any cave I had ever toured. The only light was from the provided flash lights. Gasper was an excellent tour guide and spoke excellent english. The tour was not to challenging even for my 6 year old.

We did the small tour one hour tour and it gives you and idea of how beautiful this cave is. We wished the tour was longer but the bigger ones need to be booked upfront. Any one traveling with a dog: they just build two perfect dog cages in the shadow, about 30meters from the entrance of the cave. We were the first ones the use it. So you can safely leave your dogs while you enjoy the cave. Big big plus for us!

Für die lange Tour lohnt sich warme Unterwäsche und mehrere paar Socken!(Translated by Google)Beautiful cave that is worth a visit. However, the majority of visitors only see the entrance area. Beautiful castle located essentially in the middle of nowhere. It's in great shape, fresh looking paint and new roof. Free parking on site. Great food with good service, but a really great location. Located within an old stone house with a garden, you can sit cozy inside, outside in a large veranda or in the outside “garden” area. Water fountains add some nice touches and it’s overall a really good experience.Water is served alongside coffee, a big plus in my opinion. Pasta is really good, apparently self made. The rib eye steak wasn’t really cooked medium, but instead really well done, so that was a slight bummer. Nonetheless, a recommendation from my side!

good atmosphere, friendly staff, good food, warm feeling from fireplace which gives the impression like I was in the medieval era.I ordered grilled calamari it was good with kale potatoes - not over salted - was worried about it and strongly recommend for people who seek for historical place.

A cutesy place, though it seems to smell of cigarette smoke (despite no smoking allowed indoors, supposedly), and they refuse to take credit cards for less than 150 Kuna (20€), which seems utterly ridiculous in 2022, and after 2yrs of the pandemic. The dessert raviolis with plum jam were yummy however.

I expected a lot more from this place after reading the reviews. Maybe the atmosphere in the evening is different but for lunch it was so so. We had to wait quite some time for our food to arrive and the cellar with Roman artifacts below the “hidden garden” was a little disappointing and overhyped.

The food was undeniably good, leaving my taste buds satisfied. However, I must admit that the prices were a bit on the higher side. Nevertheless, my dining experience was enhanced by the exceptional service provided by Elisabet. She was incredibly nice and helpful, making sure I had everything I needed. Despite the prices, her warmth and attentiveness made the overall experience enjoyable.

Everything was perfect! We coming every year to Volsonis and trying different dishes. This time we choose meat - it was good(not perfect). In the end waiter brought 3 € less change but it is did not ruin my evening😊

I can't tell you all how good the food was, the waiter was very funny and was making us laugh every time he came around, ambient was on next level, it really gives Krk vibes. Gotta say me and my mates loved it. 10/10.

Amazing! Homemade food from their own farm, wonderful breakfast, great atmosphere, very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Lamb medallions very pretty hard, not easy to chew. At the end of this meal I was tired of chewing. Fortunately the cheesecake and hot chocolate were delicious. I think I will come back maybe for pizza.

Great food and very special place. The basem*nt still has the very old structures which you walk through when going to the toilet. The mixed meat platter was very good, and quite big to finish. But also the pizzas were very good to keep inside.

Good breakfast. One star off as the service was very friendly but the young guy almost too scared to talk to us. Go to use the restroom to discover a whole underground of this place which is a maze of passages and quite fun to discover

The place is amazing - from the atmosphere to the food. Small and cozy restaurant, I ordered Pizzaiola and it was one of the top 5 pizza I eat in my life. Prices are medium but it is worth it.

Nice place with a good vibe. We enjoyed 2 co*cktails here. The stuff was very friendly and made sure we were ok. We will be back again. Thanks!

Historical landmark

Frankopan Castle, a fortress constructed with both square and round towers in the 12th to 15th centuries, provides tours and stunning views of the bay. A brief tour around its walls affords visitors with breathtaking vistas of Krk town during sunset. Although there are stairs that require some climbing, it is not overly difficult even for those with average fitness levels.

Beautiful castle walls by the sea, from which you can admire wonderful views of the sea.

Nice place with a great view of the sea. Little crowded during the season but it's worth it. I don't like that they asked for another money for a small telescope, we paid 15 euros for a family and one adult person and we went through it in 10 minutes. It's not large and there are few examples of middle age armors and weapons. Anyway a nice place for kids with some history. If you don't like stairs it isn't best place for you.

A must see if you are on the island of Krk. The castle is very well restored and you have a fantastic look on the city center when you are on the top of the castle.Entry prices are very fair. We paid 19€ for four adults and two children.Don't miss it when you are in Krk.

Sascha77 — Google review

Worth a visit if you're in Kirk and you want to enjoy the view from an highest place. The castle itself it's small but well maintained

Paolo G — Google review

A nice castle with some exhibits about the history of it. Only took about 25 minutes to Wal through, but the low price made it worth a visit.

Chris A — Google review

Small but so nice! 6 euro for an adult I think

C G — Google review

As there are limited historical places to visit in Krk, you should take a look at at this one at least, even if we are not talking about something special with WOW effects. But for 4 Euro you can enjoy a short 15min walk in this small old castle and take some view-shots from the top at least.

It is small museum , entry fee is 20kuna , but view around is great. It is small part of croatian history and nice to see it. Parking place is nearby aprox. 200m away. Lots of stairs there to tower there 😀 , but you can see harbour and couple of beaches around. Reccomended.

Very beautiful place, with huge historical value. Beautiful scenery, narrow aisles and majestic buildings. The cathedral is astounding as well. The only thing that is out of place (disturbing the atmosphere) in my opinion is enormous number of gift shops with same offer. One or two would do as well and they wouldn't disturb the vibe of the place that much.

Kevin R — Google review

Thats a nice place to visit in Krk. It took us around 20-25 mins to see all. Maybe there are not many exhibitions (really a few) but the view is great and taking under considerstion low price (20kuna per person and 60 kuna for a family ticket) i really recommend it to visit.

Ewelina B — Google review

Interesting place . Worth seeing. Beautiful views from the castle walls.

ŚpiacyBaca71 — Google review

Rather small. Nice place and views. Should be cheaper for 10 min spent there. City is very small, tiny streets. Nice walk around, watching sea. Nothing spectacular.

Pavel C — Google review

Short and almost effortles tour around the Frankopan castle walls. The view on the town of Krk is amazing, especially if you pay a visit during the sunset, like we did. It takes a little bit if climbing the stairs though. But it's not that hard, even if your condition is average. It wasn't crowded and you can buy the tickets without reservation. Must see if you visit Krk!
