BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A report found that Louisiana had the highest number of deadly crashes involving aggressive or careless driving in 2022.
According to Lending Tree Insurance, 40.1% of fatal crashes in Louisiana involved aggressive or careless driving. Lending Tree used the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Fatality Analysis Reporting System to find the data.
Louisiana ranked first with 342 fatal road rage crashes out of the 852 that were reported in the state. Delaware came second with 37 fatal road rage crashes out of 143.
Lending Tree also found that men and millennials caused a high number of aggressive or careless deadly crashes.
There were 3,514 fatal crashes with careless and aggressive drivers in the U.S. in 2022. Millennials were involved in 1,253 of those crashes. The data said that male drivers were in 2,756 of the crashes. Female drivers were reportedly in 670 of those crashes.
