Love this breakdown of YouTube - if profit is increasing, even without being able to nail down specifically if people saw your ad (hello attrition issues), and you’re making the business more and more 🤑 that’s a successful ad.

    If you advertise in Europe on Meta and have noticed a large decline in audience size, this may be because of the new option to subscribe to Meta's products which would enable people to scroll endlessly without having ads in their feed. I tried to find an estimate of how many people have opted to subscribe and I couldn't find a number I feel good about sharing (I don't think Meta is ready to release that data yet really since it's so new).     I feel like we all saw it coming... buttttttt Google delayed cookie depreciation until 2025 - for now, but they've been trying to get rid of cookies since 2020, so we shall see. It's still worth looking into more Mixed Media Modeling techniques for reporting sooner rather than later (if you havent already) to have a way to understand user behavior when you do lose cookie tracking in today's ecosystem from consent mode and ad blockers (and Apple making you agree to give your data to all your apps again - i.e. Chrome app, gmail app, calendar app (which all would fuel Google's learnings), and FB or Instagram).     There are 3 ways to increase sales:1. Sell to more people2. Increase the size of each purchase 3. Get people to come back and buy more from youThat's it. If your marketing efforts don't line up to one of these 3, then you should re-evaluate. Note: if you have a high value product, such as SaaS companies, insurance, etc then "getting people to come back and buy more," could mean getting your current customers to renew their contracts.

    Google is making it easier for you to launch new visual ad formats but unless you’re careful this could lead to a lot of unoptimized performance max or demand gen campaigns. 10/10 recommend ensuring you have a testing framework in place before introducing new imagery AND knowing WHY you want to change images and WHAT you think could work. All of that to say, I still think UGC is king for most brands in todays market and stock type imagery typically won’t work as well (but always worth a test). Now don’t get me wrong, I’m still excited about this new AI image generation! It’s a great option for new tests! #AI
